Yes, I logged on to get this for the x360 arcade I won, figuring out I could make my arcade into a pro cheap - no stock available for pickup - try typing in any major city - london, birmingham, manchester, glasgow - nowhere.

Anyone know how good the hong kong sellers on ebay are for these? They do them around the same price.

dsg retail for ye.

Anything with a .97p on the end of it at Currys , PC World or dixons is a ******** never available anywhere lure to get you onto their site .

Dont trust the online stock, try taking the print out to a PC World shop. Someone did this in Wolverhampton recently on a previous post and got one. It was also in stock at a nearby Comet even though it doesn't show on their website any more - nothing to lose by asking!

If you can get this at that price and get yourself one of the cheap arcade deals, you have an xbox pro pretty cheaply. Im probably wrong but would the only thing missing be the HDMI port?
#12
none in northern ireland, discovered with deals i posted in the past anything ending in 97 always are nonsense and never work.
#13
loads of second hand ones on ebay...a lot of people....like my son....got the 120Gb drive from Play for £109 so are selling their 20Gb drives on Ebay....seem to be getting around the £40 mark....hong kong sellers are comining in around £30 incl postage....but whether or not they are genuine drives????....dont be put off buying second hand....they dont really get much abuse....and if you think its a rip off at £35 - £40 because they are shown here at £27....just remind yourself of the old anecdote I used when I was in retail and people used to come into me and try and price match other retailers.....when I didn't have the item in stock either....my price was always £5 less than my competitors....lol

I think someone already did report them to trading standards yesterday, about another of their 'phantom' deals - this time a Toshiba portable DVD player. I think the person who reported them also let them know about a dozen or so other 'phantom' items.

So we can live in hope that something might be done about this sharp practice, (although to be fair, I'm getting equally annoyed at Argos, as they seem to be using similar tactics this year...).

Even so, what data could you possible want from someone else's 360 HD?
#17
I have a spare one still sealed, may look at putting it on ebay

Some Xbox360 Arcade machine have HDMI port too. Box has HDMI printed on it and 175w PSU so best to check box before purchase to make sure the one you are buying has.

as far as recovering data from the hard disk, its only going to be saved games and tunes, you dont do internet banking on your xbox 360!

I'm not going to vote hot as it wont make any difference, although this is slightly different from the other posts on this "deal" as it makes a good point, if you take the printout from the internet in, and they DO have stock, then I think they're bound to sell the item to you (citation required). I think I'll give this a go on the weekend as its not too out of the way.
