Stunning web cam but does need a semi decent spec machine (dual core) but otherwise a great bit of kit.

i just got one of these delivered 3 days ago at 34.99. knew it would come down as soon as i bought it. i wasnt sure about whether it would run on my acer revo dual core, but it runs fine. so i should be able to get away with the minimum spec required

Use mine to keep an eye on the new-born, the picture quality is superb.

i need to buy new Desktop before i buy it

meh, no hardware decoder in it so you need a pretty decent computer to be able to use it. No skype HD certification for hd webcams that don't have a hardware decoder. Hope laptops get 720p built in soon.

Have had one of these for a while. Have an i3 core processor, 3gb of ram on a dell laptop and never been able to run it on 720p without massive lag. Next resolution down isn't much good either. I've even tried turning off all the animation etc on windows, making it very barebones and the computer still can't handle it.

pretty strange when my revo can run it no problem. i would thought an i3 would handle this even easier. the revo just meets the very minimum specs. sounds like u have some sort of problem

Bear in mind that you need a decent PC or Mac in order to power it. My Acer One netbook can only manage 480p video with the Lifecam.

But this deal is exceptionally hot if you choose to modify your camera for astrophotography. I've modified mine and get really nice images of the planets and the moon through it.

I have tried mine on machines running the following CPU's i7, C2D, Dual Core Atom and works great using the latest Windows Messenger or Skype. All machines are running Win 7
