Hot. Unfortunately still missing the HSBC app which is what keeps me away. I'm not a big app person but the baking apps are essential, surely, Microsoft?

I know what you mean. It is a shame because the camera on this phone is amazing and the hardware itself is solid.

I have a windows phone and used to be a fan until MS made changes to Hotmail (or outlook.live or .mail or whatever it's called now) and have completely f'd things up. It's now impossible to keep your email, phone and skype contacts separate or to be logged into email without also being logged into skype. Email is slow and unresponsive, constantly needs refreshing, deleted emails reappear in the inbox and also in the deleted folder even when it's emptied. Thousands of people are complaining about these changes, even at a corporate level, and threatening to dump all MS systems but MS do nothing. This is not the first time MS have changed things and made them worse and you can bet it won't be the last. MS sucks, OK?

Microsoft don't make all the apps.
If HSBC haven't released an app then blame HSBC.. but probably not worth the effort as MS currently have less than 1% share of the mobile market, so any company developing an app for such low numbers would be investing a lot of money for little /no return.

Can't you do it via a browser on the phone? Sometimes a bit clunky but usually has all, if not more, of the functions?

Microsoft always had the option to pay for these basic apps to be ported much like BlackBerry did in the early days of BB10. It's like Microsoft wanted these phones to fail. For the reasons you said RE market share and profit I do not blame HSBC. They can't be blamed for the way Microsoft have handled Windows 10 for Mobile.

Yup. Complete disaster. Shame as I actually used to love my Windows phones.

Would be swell if it worked the way it does on Chrome on my Android but when I had the 950xl (admittedly for less than a week) I failed to successfully log in. This could have been the website or could have been compatibility with Edge. I dunno.

Been so tempted to get one of these, but I think I'll just hang on for a Surface Phone now. My 925 is still going strong and does everything I need it to.

I blame HSBC. Its business banking app is a disgrace. Never ever got it to do anything once logged in and I can't remember how long ago it ever had an update.

Bit long in the tooth? Hardware wise it beats the 2 week old iPhone 7 hands down for a fraction of the price.
Lolz at that "retina" screen.

Careful, you'll awaken the one true believer aka fanboi who'll claim it's a world beater.

A wet fish would beat an Iphone 7! still over priced for a phone that was released nearly a year ago

If you want the display dock both the 950 £249 & 950 XL £339 come with it on the Microsoft store.

I think there's about as much chance of a Surface Phone as there is of Apple bringing out an Android phone.

Windows Phone is a really solid OS but unfortunately it just came at the wrong time - no one has been able to forge a solid third ecosystem behind iOS and Android, and upkeep of this OS and R&D involved in manufacturing devices like this means that Microsoft have surely given up on this game now.

They were always a software manufacturer anyway (hence the 'soft' bit of their name) and by all accounts they are doing some great work with Microsoft apps on Android and iOS: certainly Outlook is my go-to email client on my G5 and iPhone 7.

As for the specs on this being great for the money - that's beyond doubt. If you forget the OS this is an absolute bargain; the problem is that without the apps and games to take advantage of good specs you're kind of left with a 'Ferrari in the garage' scenario.

Spec OK "Very good" Problem Windows

Me personalty looking to hardware specs , logic says Software is must be 1 one criteria as you using software day to day so and Performance most case depends on software not on hardware " Iphone example old Iphones still in sale "

Had one and returned it after a few weeks. The lack of decent apps just makes it a boring phone to have. It did the basics very well, but app wise it was a bit meh.

It's not Microsoft but HSBC that should be providing the app. Also you can pin the webpage instead and use it via browser. Just saying...
