Students get a 4 year subscription to Office 365 (2 computers + 2 mobiles) for £59.99 (works out at £1.25 a month), however, until 28th September you also get a years' free Xbox Live Gold (normally £30-35) - which takes the price of office down to about 63 pence a month!

Also worth noting that this includes 27GB of cloud storage for the 4 years too!

I did check but this deal hadn't been posted before ;). 60 quid for a year of xbox live and 4 years of office seems like a pretty good deal to me!

damn, this is pretty tempting, I just wish it had a device limit rather than 2+2. I have 3 pcs and a phone :(

How does it include 27gb cloud storage? It says 20 there.
And if you have bought this, did it ask for any proof of you being a student?

Do you not need an .ac.uk email address to qualify seeing that the office is the university version?
paramoreRyan#6
It mentions in the features section that you get 7GB and the university one gets an extra 20GB for 27 total
Vortal#7
When I tried you needed to verify you were a student via school verification code, ISIC(?) or some other method.
Having none of these meant I could not get the deal.
Shame but hot deal for Students never the less.

I'm a student so have an ac.uk email but we have been told we get to keep our email for life :D
spullot#10
I'm a student and have no ac.uk email, due to being open university so I doubt it's the be all and end all to have the email.

Everyone with a Hotmail account automatically has 7GB of SkyDrive storage, this adds another 20GB. BTW If you are not a student you can get an extra 50GB of cloud storage for £16pa. Bluudy good IMO.

After the four year subscription is up, can you then not use the office program's until you renew?
spullot#16

Does anyone know if you could sell the live code after you activate office or is it tied to your Microsoft account?

All SkyDrive users receive 7 GB of storage with SkyDrive for free. Additional storage can be purchased if needed. Customers with an active Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 University subscription receive an additional 20 GB of SkyDrive storage, per subscription, for a total of 27 GB of storage. This additional storage is not available during trial periods.
This additional 20 GB of SkyDrive storage is applied to the SkyDrive account that is linked to the Microsoft account used to create the Office 365 subscription account.

After the four year subscription is up, can you then not use the office program's until you renew?

if you pay for a new home subscription.

you automatically log in when you open an office program and it confirms your entitlement - remember, it's a subscription.
this allows you to move round the permanent installs (2 at a time for university) and ensures you don't use it when you haven't paid.
i believe that the install has a 30 day grace period for validations, to allow for roaming around and not having an internet connection and then a period where it enters reduced functionality mode, tells you off and asking you to renew before cutting you off.

so yes, you can use it for around 4months before you renew.
