cold for me as the offer is erm, very limited..
#2
Civil Servants are also entitled to a similar deal, just check with your Information Systems people.
#3
Not a good enough reason to vote it cold - everything is limited as to whether or not people want it

There are over a million people employed in the NHS - how limited is that????
#4
Voted hot from me, 3 million NHS staff in the UK plus all those civil servants... This is worth checking out (I have taken up this offer already)
#5
Anyone can have MS Offfice for that price if they have an enterprise agreement with Microsoft, Generally most larger companies do have, if they are windows based. Also offer these deals to there employees only.
#6
Have to agree...well worth a reminder for qualifying staff...I've also taken the offer up.
#7
Yes worth knowing if your company does ot promite the offer?
#8
thanks for the reminder, have been meaning to send off for this for a while but was waiting until I got around to getting a new laptop. I know several people who have got this deal and they are very pleased.

The NHS is the largest employer in the UK, so a good deal for over a million people and 5% of the working population. Hot from me.

Bad luck for you then - but it seems other peopl wouldn't agree with you....

I also made it very clear in the title that it was NHS employees only so if you wanted to waste your time clicking on it and voting it cold....

hi, who did you speak to? I know thw NHS have a website they navigate through, but hadn't heard of this for us civil servants, or is it through mod discount brochure thingy?

One day, everyone will work for the government and thus will be able to get deals like this together with state guaranteed pensions and job security for life.

Feck knows who is going to pay for it all tho'?:?

FREE TRAIN TRAVEL!! (if you work for a rail company)
FREE McDONALDS BURGER (at break time if you work for them)
CHEAP LUNCHES!! (if your work has a subsidised canteen)
10% OFF!! (if you work for certain shops)

Jeez, where will this end? If this goes hot I can see a few similar threads being started. Is this hotukdeals or hotemployeebenefits?
Not voted either way, but prob should vote cold because whether or not I want the deal I can't get it.
#16
Check with your CIS department.
#17
its a deal for a large number of people, therefore its hot. 'nuff said.
#18
NHS staff also get discounts in Orange shops  (with ID)

The money Microsoft loses on the NHS 'deal' is recouped a hundred times over as they have their claws well and truly in the NHS. Every new multi-million (usually over budget) NHS system has to be Microsoft based - we went from a Unix system to MS and in doing so stepped back 10 years. I couldn't care less about MS but after seeing millions & millions being squandered to new NHS systems and this given as some recompense makes me sick - anyone who blags MS is OK by me.
#21
Don't see why NHS workers should get a discount. Does the govt assume that anyone who doesn't work for the NHS can naturally afford to pay the full price for software?

Hot deal if you work for the NHS (or know someone who does). For the rest of us, get saving.

I initially disagreed with those that voted this cold, as I though it was good for those that it could benefit. However, after reading your comment, I think you have a point and perhaps this is not much of a 'deal'.
#23
so just for the NHS and MAC users...... good deal for someone i guess....

Good reminder, but better to bump previous post

This deal isn't just limited to the NHS. I work for Warwickshire County Council and we've had
this deal for years.
#26
Last time I checked NHS staff in Norn Ireland are excluded from this offer.
#27
good deal.. worth it!!!
#28
perhaps somebody could buy a copy, and leave it on a train for me - it seems quite a common thing these days:whistling:

voted hot btw even though i cant get it :p
#29
This is pretty much on-going..

Similar deal for students @ 39 quid......

Office is well worth £20 but I do believe in comments people above said. It is designed at retaining it's foothold in the industry
#30
Oh, btw, one proviso of the deal is that if you leave your employer you will uninstall the software and return the disc to Microsoft.

Cold, limited to NHS and Mac users.

For a start I dont have a MAC.... and secondly from previous comments (which you appear not to have read) it is limited to more then just NHS employees (i.e. council workers).

As this is something that quite a few people would actually want I think it would make it a better deal then some other things which get posted on here (there are over a million NHS employees + council workers)

Lastly if you aint an NHS employee why did you waste your time clicking on it just to vote it cold and put a message when it says quite clearly in the title that it is for NHS employees only...?

I work in Banking, all MS software is free through the enterprise agreement. As someone said earlier, many big companies offer this deal.
