Not really a deal. Just if your company makes use of Home Use Program you can get them cheap at home. They used to be free for home user under that program

IMO it is a deal - you can either go and buy it outright for £79 or extend your enterprise licence for £9.. I know which one I'd prefer..

Nice find OP - good deal !!

Its a standard offer, and a couple things to consider:

1. You can't (under license terms) use it for anything commercial - including your job (i.e. the one you used to get the deal)
2. You can (or at least when I did it) install it on two machines - terms state on PC and one portable, but any two will work

Personally I hate it and despite having bought it don't use it. If you like the "Ribbon" and the Windows 8 style baggage you might feel different. I suppose its worth the money, and maybe handy for training/practice, but if I had my time again I'd have kept my £8.95.

By the way ubit (to bring back classic Office menus) works with this, and makes it bearable, but for home use I find I can do everything with office.live.com and save installing this.

Long running programme - I've purchased 2010 & 2013 through it.
note: you also have to remove it should you leave the company you work for (not that there's a way to check of course)

You can also purchase Project & Visio as standalone programs (8.95 each)

And then they wonder why piracy is so rife? With terms like these you can hardly blame people for seeing them as greedy fat bar-stewards!!

To answer this rhetorical question, No but it's similar in many aspects and yes it's free.

How is this 'greedy'?

All you are doing is paying to extend your employer's licence...

No.

Nope. OpenOffice and LibreOffice are excellent, and have some compatibility with MS formats. Once you start getting in to saving between the two environments, especially with custom MS templates, then it generally doesn't end well. This isn't a dig at Libre/OpenOffice, just a fact of life.

If you want basic Word/Excel compatibility with MS, and don't need anything fancy, then download MS Office 2010 Starter (Windows 7, free in several places - google) or use online MS Office Online for free at office.live.com. The latter also works in Linux (100%) and Chromebooks (I think).

I think this is going cold because the title is very misleading. Home Use program needs to go in the title. This is more limited than the student offers.

How is it limited? IF your employer participates, for £9 you can install MS Office 2013 Pro+ on two machines.

No, I was looking for a cheap Student version as I know Uni's sometimes have deals like the one posted here, I used the Home Premium from the site as that is the key I have from his lappie. Loaded perfectly, just cannot get the lan driver to load to update his Vaio drivers, so still a bit stuck, but I'll get our IT guy to fight with it hopefully. Thanks again, I'll stop clogging this up now.

Not one of your posted deals will save anywhere near the amount of money this deal offers. Are all your deals "Useless crap"?
if you think "not many people will benefit" then you must think that some people will benefit from it. That makes it worthwhile posting and over two million people can take up this deal which is also more than any of your posted deals could manage. Again I ask are all your deals "Useless crap"?
You say "I don't give a toss what you think" and yet you still had to reply to my post. Clearly you give much more than "a toss" so your latest post could also be considered "Useless crap"
That's three lots of "Useless crap" in one post. Are you trying to beat a record of how many "Useless crap" comments you can make or are you going to give up before you make yourself look even more foolish?

Lol you made me laugh. Have a life man. It's a good deal for office (cheap) but imo it's quite limited when it comes to people who can claim it (most of people/students who are eligible ALREADY have it).

The saying is "Get a life", you can't get even the simplest of statements right. Now you say it is a good deal, so it isn't even your opinion that it's "Useless crap" and nobody else has said has that. You get a gold medal for making a fool of yourself and you owe the OP a big apology for your offensive remark. Based on your stupid comments so far I doubt you will understand so I have decided not to continue this conversation for fear of making yourself appear to be the most idiotic poster on this forum.
