Best place for a Student version of Office or Windows is Software4Students.

Or Download Beta version of Office 2010 here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/default.aspx.

Valid until October 2010.
#7
this deal is old.

plus the 2010 version is coming out within a few months in both 32 bit and 64 bit

Software4students seem to be having major problems with sending things out at the mo, for instance I ordered window 7 on the 3rd of Nov and still nothing, have a look on moneysavingexpert.com as there is a whole thread about non delivery of items

how many licenses does this come with?
#10
Beware. The inference is that this is a Microsoft website. It isn't.

As far as I'm aware, they used to stop it for a few months every year over summer.

Indeed. At this point, I'd suggest holding off for Office 2010 as it's expected before July next year.

The correct link: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-uk/default.aspx - someone still needs to update the go to deal link :)

It's a Microsoft offer and they use DigitalRiver to process the order and handle the logistics of it.

+1. They messed up our Office Pro order. Fair's fair though, they said they'd send Office Enterprise out instead as a "sorry".

Windows 7 has not arrived either yet from them.

I got an e-mail from them pointing back to the web-pages where they have changed it to say that the Windows 7 Upgrades will be delivered on November 26th.

I'm sure it didn't say that when I ordered it.

Yeah exactly. You may as well download the Office 2010 beta at the moment, then buy it through the ultimate steal when the full version is released! (2010 will almost certainly be available through TheUltimateSteal, although I guess there are no guarantees)

I actually downloaded the Office 10 beta (For Free) has full functionality, (to be honest 90% of people only use Word and a smaller fraction Excel...so for that it is fine).

Also google docs is a very realistic and viable alternative, and allows you to collaborate online far quicker and your files are saved within your google account.

Finally there is openoffice again free.

Not saying this isn't a bargain, but there other FREE ways to get office software at this moment.

All above easily googleable...

I never realised how different the Student edition is from the normal one, it is awful. Is there anyway you can change the look of it to Standard 2007? My kids, and I, really struggle with the usability. It's not even similar!
#19
do you get retail boxed edition or it ist just the cds that you get
#20
Isn't this a really old version of Windows since Windows 7 was recently reduced and it doesn't seem very cheap for an old version.

x2 I've had an email from them after I enquired about my order, informed me that there would be a delay.

Good deal for those who NEED Office, but I personally just use Openoffice. its free to download.

They emailed me after I chased, saying...
"Your software will be promptly dispatched again. You should receive it within the next 4/5 days. We will expire the product keys of the original media set."

So they reckon they shipped it once already?? yeh right

This post is for the 'OFFICE' package, not a Windows operating system
