Sorry to troll but beware the Costco membership is a total farce.

Joined in Aug and so far the only money I have ever saved is 90p off a pack of Gaviscon. Prices are pretty much the same as Tesco/Asda who you don't need a stupid card to shop with.

Basically if you are thinking of coming a member for this offer then don't. If you are already a member then it's not a bad deal, the £11 can go towards the £25 you were duped into spending.

Goes without saying that I won't be renewing my membership next year.

I have been a member for over 20 years and to be fair, lots of things are cheaper and lots of things are more expensive.... so I try to only buy the things that are cheaper.

If you ask for your membership to be refunded, I think they still do that.

They have 81 Million card holders, giving you your money back won't hurt their profits too much!

Gonna let the membership run its course and see if anything comes up that changes my mind.

At the moment just think it's a very clever marketing ploy that adds percieved value by making people feel like they belong to an exclusive club. Also if they have 81m members that's 2bn in membership fees alone!! Surely we should expect better than an £11 discount on a £1000 Surface Pro :)

Though I could be convinced otherwise so will keep an open mind but until then think it's a bit of a farce.

You might want to mention the free Xbox One S included as well. Probably had a load of cold votes as doesn't sound like a great deal as it stands.

If you are unhappy with Costco membership and dont feel it has provided value then they will refund the membership fee you paid - just ask.

Personally I love it and find it great value on some things, but on others the offers at Tesco/Asda etc beat it hands down. Just got to know what is worth buying and what isn't. There returns policy/customer service is also on a par with John Lewis.

NB: I am a member of Costco but otherwise have no financial links to them
