Available for £30 if you can get hold of a university email address

Dont forget to go via a cashback site for an extra few percentage points!
Got 1 of my 2 separate pre-orders (of the full not upgrade) from Tesco delivered today - other due tomorrow allegedly.
Had an odd way of addressing the envelope with street address first, and name second!
The W7 package is small - about the size of 3 DVD cases (didnt realise at all what it was until I opened the courier card envelope).

My tesco pre order hasn't arrived today either

Mine arrived today , not sure what they charged me for it yet though .

No idea why they call this the "upgrade" version.

It'll upgrade you if you have Vista on your PC now, buy if you've got XP it says it will do a reformat and a full install of Windows 7 onto it.

Surely that means you could put it straight onto a blank machine?? It's only an upgrade if you have Vista and want to keep all your old files

They've charged you the day you have ordered, mine was about 2 months ago, I got mine today. On parcel it is written sent 19th, delivery on 20th, but got it today, maybe delivery guys have a lot of work recently...

You can still buy the full version for £76 from Scan and other places and it’s much less restricted in what you can do with than this Upgrade so this is cold for me.

Because it’s an upgrade license and allows you to ‘upgrade’ your license from XP or Vista to Win7.
Whether one does an in-place upgrade or a fresh install is a completely separate issue which is confusing some.
As it happens in many scenarios even Vista users have to do a fresh install when upgrading to Win7 e.g. there are no in-place upgrades between 32 and 64 bit versions and vice versa.

much more convenvient to pay a few extra pounds more and go for the full installation, so that when you format windows 7 you do not have to install vista then from vista upgrade to windows 7.

So assuming you did a clean Win 7 install using this, does it ask for the vista disc (for proof)during installation.

The irony is that Windows 7 appears to have got the upgrade path vastly improved.
But it is too late , users are traumatised by horrible upgrade paths that 'haunt' the install forever afterward.

A full retail purchase is still a great investment and will travel with you from machine to machine for years to come.
I do not know the current legislation , but my XP license can be moved ever 120 days and re-activated no problem - guessing win7 will be similar ( in practise)
I move a lot of OEM licenses and all they ever want to know on the MS helpline is if it is one more than one machine

Can you not use one of the £10 vouchers with this and make it £49? :)

My full version arrived too.

r u sure you can take it from machine to machine, as mine has come yesterday, and it says you have to activate it within 30 days and it gets stuck to that machine forever
