Just spotted this deal on Tesco Direct

I know there has been other deals on similar products, but the Tesco instore Logitech set proved hard to find. This is only £1 more than the Aldi / Lidl deal from a few days ago, and you get a Microsoft set with added media buttons etc.

3 Year Guarantee from Microsoft.

Delivery free to local store, £5 otherwise as usual for Tesco Direct

£25 on Amazon and elsewhere

Will this work fully with windows 7?

Don't see why there should be any problems, especially since Microsoft are the manufacturer

Not the same I know, just stating you may pick it up instore if you're lucky. I got two sets, but on PCs running XP. But the box clearly stated on both sets that it's for Windows 7 :)

EDIT: However just noticed the image is different to what I got instore! Looks like mine was a Wireless Media Desktop...

Per Amazon reviews
'Just be aware that for Windows 7 you will need to download updated drivers. These are readily available and you will be prompted to go to the MS website to obtain them. People who just want to stick the installation disk in the drive and run need to keep calm and follow the onscreen instructions. It works well but be patient.'

I've used the Microsoft Wireless 1000 desktop for 3 years, during that time I've dropped it onto a hardwood floor dozens of times, spilt hot liquid over the keyboard & mouse, thrown-up over it when drunk, and generally abused it in every possible way, my verdict is It's bulletproof and a great all-rounder for general use, alhough gamers may want to look for something a bit more specialised, even at 20 quid this would be a bargin & it will probably live longer than you do.

I agree. with that. I Use a Microsoft Cordless desktop on Windows 7(64 Bit), and have not had to use CD at all, as it downloaded all the correct software and drivers from the windows Update site itself.

So if it doesn't say on the CD that its compatible with windows 7...Sit on your CD :)

Good price to what I paid a year ago or something but everything gets in the way of the wireless signal on mines and I have to be really close to the pc to use it. Maybe I've just been unlucky but wouldn't get another one...

Exactly what I was looking for - great price.

Thanks for posting!

Cheers

Good deal.

If you are looking for a new wireless keyboard & mouse combo, it might be worth considering this one for £17.99 delivered:

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/11555229/Logitech-Wireless-Desktop-MK300-Keyboard-Mouse/Product.html

I prefered the look of it, and have used a Logitech set for years, so just ordered to go with my Revo 3600.
#15
I've had mine for over 3 years now and they keyboard is running off of the original Energizer batteries that came with the set, even after daily usage. The mouse has lasted me ~6 months before the batteries needed changing - have since switched to high capacity rechargeables for that though.

Received mine today, from Currys (after getting a price match) and it looks like this:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41mc1rEO1UL._SS500_.jpg

It has 'Windows 7' branded in Silver on the front of the box

In fact, it seems to be designed for Windows 7. (i.e. It has quick short cuts to the Windows 7 taskbar)

Picked up mine instore at Currys for £13.47. Instore price is more so bigger discount against tesco price!

Also prefer the standard look opposed to the curved keyboard design. This is perfect for my Revo!
#21
I ordered from Tesco and received a different product - a Wireless Media Desktop 1000. It has a more conventional shaped keyboard - rather than the curvy one. The mouse appears to be same - Optical Mouse 2000. Should I complain?
#22
Just picked mine up - also straight (not curvy) keyboard.

You could complain but to be honest, at £15 it's a complete steal and if they offered you a refund what would you do? It's a great quality keyboard and mouse. I'm going to order another one.

Completely agree - I wont be complaining, totally better keyboard, its exactly the same as picture posted a few posts up and I really like it, totally compatible and designed for Windows 7.

Plugged in the wireless receiver put 2 x AA batteries for keyboard, synch'd and then it was recognised and working fine. Didnt bother with the CD, just went to Microsofts website and downloaded the latest software for it, folllowed the simple set up instructions and checked it was properly registered in Device Manager.

Now its fully operation with the function keys which are fully configurable to what you want them to do. ie. I changed the Media button to start itunes instead of WMP. The 12345 buttons can just start the Windows 7 taskbar items that you have in that order or you can just assign them your favourite programs. Lots more features and configurable, I like the Other Views button :-D

Well recommended Windows7 smart keyboard and for £15 with wireless mouse - its a no brainer IMO. Im not even using the mouse and would have been happy enough if it wasnt included for the price!

Went into Currys at lunch and these were on the shelf at £34 something.

I just phoned Currys and they will only let me have one, I wanted 3, and then after ages on the phone they will only ship to my credit cards registered address which is no good to me. Is this their way of not price matching?

On their price match page it does say "Single unit purchases only' on the 'in store' section but not in the online section so they checked with a manager and the decision is that it applies to online purchases as well.
