I think tesco have lost a lot of customers recently, did you see Sainbugs' profits rose 40 odd precent this year, so I guess Tesco's are trying to clear stock fast. We don't Tesco anymore, the store has changed, the staff have changed it is like a kiddies funfair now with the staff acting as helpers.

Tesco customer service has gone rapidly downhill. I've personally had experience of this through both their stores and Tesco Direct. They're so incompetent at Tesco Direct that when they paid me a complimentary compensation payment after a series of cock-ups they duplicated it a month later. Needless to say I haven't phoned to complain about that. ;-)

I imagine the profits are false for sainsbury's, normally when companies are in the process of being taken over they obviously want to look like they are doing better than they actually are. Now the private equity consortium are no longer interested you will see their profits fall back in line.

BTW, don't have a Tesco near me so I'm a sainsbury's customer but when I order online Tesco offer a much better service.

I also had some experience of this. They decided to refund me postage for an item which was £5, I recived this fine then a few days later had a refund of £20 which was nice. So by ordering from them I made £15 profit, excellent customer service!:-D

Well I ordered a Nintendo Wii which kept being delayed. Eventually they admitted they never had any in stock and have so far refunded me an extra £30 on top of the £180 for the Wii. I wouldn't say all this was profit though because I had to make numerous calls to make them refund my money as well as travelling to collect the Wii that turned out not to be there. Didn't do too bad out of it though. They've also just given me a £10 voucher to tempt be back as a customer so I may just find something for a tenner and call it a day.
