I've got the White one, its a good little mouse for the money.

Anyone actually used this? I have a wood desk which really makes most opticals go crazy! Also, I wonder if this is any good for gaming?

Graphite model is £24.99 at Play.com.£16.99 on Amazon.

Is this the same one? http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/1135311/Microsoft-Wireless-Notebook-Optical-Mouse-4000/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0

No its not got bluetrack, so its a different bog standard optical version.

I have been tempted by this for a while, especially at this price, but feel that perhaps it is a little too small to be comfortable for long ish usage (I tried a demo one in PCWorld and it felt like a medium sized mouse, not your bog standard large mice that I prefer, nor one of those tiny jobbies gizmouk)

Is this a full sized mouse, or one of those piddly little mice for folk with tiny hands ?

Looks like the previous generation, without the BlueTrack technology.

I won a different type of blue track from Microsoft. The optical sensor is fairly effective and works well on most surfaces, although don't expect miracles. It's as much a marketing point more than a new technology.

On my earlier mouse, it does have an issue with the sensor getting clogged with dusk and hair, and becomes unreliable. This is because my model has a large opening, This has probably been corrected in the more recent models, but speaking to my friends with the same model as me, it looks like a common issue.

It's a' mobile' mouse, which tend to be smaller for several reasons other than small hands.

This are great for the price. Does everything that the mobile mouse 6000 does, with 1 fewer button, which isn't a dealbreaker by any means.
#11
I use a MS Mobile 3000 for my main mouse...lovely to use.
#12
Ordered. Thank You.
#13
Do Microsoft sell an external keyboard that works with this mouse's usb dongle (transmitter)- or will such a keyboard require its own separate dongle? Cheers
#14
Thanks I needed a new mouse :)
#15

Anyone have a picture of what the receiver looks like?

Is it the really really tiny one?

EDIT::::

Seems like the receiver is the nano type.

What batteries does it take?

Anyone know what range these mouses have, ie, can i sit 3 metres away on a sofa whilst laptops connected to tv and operate it from there??
#23
this mouse is awesome..ordered like 3 months ago from amazon for 10£...it's not big,but it's not small either..receiver is very very small..you just forget it in laptop..battery doesn;t lasts for 10 months..i have just changed mine...it has a very good grip, very good for gaming..what else can i say..a 5 stars mouse for a very good price..thinking off buying one for my gf too
#24
I have this mouse too, and I can vouch for it. It's not small but it's not a full size mouse. Tracking seems fine on wood to me. Nice click and scroll-wheel, and once you get used to the thumb button you'll wonder how you went without it before.
#25
If you have multiple laptops being used in close proximity will they be able to distinguish between one mouse and another?

It should be no problem. But I cannot be sure.

yup £17 now

Just received mine this morning, a replacement for my old mobile 4000 series mouse which was starting to show signs of fatigue from being carried around in my laptop bag for the last 4 years. The new one seems very good, and able to track without issue on a shiny desk surface. The receiver dongle is also small enough to be left plugged in to my laptop while it's in the bag without fear of snapping it.
#32
you were lucky mine has been delayed until december 17th.:(
#33
lime green is now £13.95

I put off buying this after I posted the deal, and then it sold out at that price. I've just ordered the lime green one though, so all is good.
