Hot - banned from buying 'toys' though...

I've already got one of these, highly recommended. The battery life is awesome compared to some I've used - I've had min best part of a year, regular use, and still on the original set of Duracells

Im using one of these now-a secondhand one from a friend.

Its a good set up. The layout on the keyboard is excellent and the special function keys easy to program. Id say the only negatives for the keyboard are its a bit noisy when typing and the keyboard is quite large i.e from the rear to the front wrist rest (non detachable). The mouse is great. Quite large so no good for dainty hands but it feels great and has plenty of programmable buttons. Running mine in vista and it was a doddle to set up and program.

At this price its a bargain for such quality and has a 3 year warranty.

Great bargain and a clear, precise post.
Heat and rep added.

I have one of these already and it is the best wireless keyboard/mouse I have ever used. At that price it is a steal. Go for it if you need one.

Good kit though - heat added.

But does anyone know if you can use it with a proper mouse?
#11

Yeah agreed. I picked up one of these in January and it had to go back within a week because the mouse was so awful without the proper click. I used the click wheel for internet browsing as well as games etc and it was just such a pain with this mouse that it made it unusable.

Took the plunge and ordered the Logitech set on here a couple of weeks agofrom Dell, and have to say it does a better job than the Microsoft one did

What exacty do you mean by the click sound - is it for e.g. when you double click on an icon on the desktop and there is no clicking sound? :?
#22
WOW. Might get one myself

I mean the physical click when you click the mouse wheel in, its basically a 3rd mouse button, and is used a lot in gaming etc. On this particular mouse, the click is very soft and also inadiable and as a result relatively imprecise compared to other mice available. If you dont use it then you wont miss it, but it drove me mad for the short time I had this desktop set!

Hope that helps!

I've got one of these and just clicked it now - I can hear it click loud and clear.

Are you going deaf or did you have a faulty one?

I fully endorse the set as well. Can't remember what I paid for mine but the price seems quite reasonable:thumbsup:

Perhaps I am deaf!! :?
It was more about the lack of tactile feedback for me to be honest. When scrolling on the wheel it doesnt have set small clicks of distance, rahter its a smooth rotation- try it on your wheel now and see what i mean. I have always used MS stuff in the past, but just found this mouse was not as good as the one it was bought to replace, so it went back.
#26
I love the smooth rolling :) The mouse wheel does click when pressed in, just not when rolled. (which I quite like for regular browsing) There are also 2 thumb buttons which by default go forward and back on webpages.

Personally, its the best set up iv ever used, and much prefer it compared to my logitech wireless set. The mouse is lighter and more comfortable than the logitech one, and the keyboard just feels better made.

For this price, its a crime not to buy it.

Thats my 2 cents anyway :)
#27
hey there. can someone tell me if it has the two small buttons on the left hand side of the mouse!? (for going backwards and forwards pages in inernet explorer) it looks similar to the one i have. thanks
#28
I have used this kb and mice. Two things i dont really like about it, the size of the keyboard and it is not very quiet to type. Other than that, everything is great!
#29
This is one of the best deals ever for a Microsoft Keyboard kit. They had 356 in stock this morning.
You should grab one soon, they will be gone by Monday.
#30
Bought one, and some other bits to take it to £50 and free delivery.

This is what you call a keyboard:
