I notice same price from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wireless-Optical-Desktop-700/dp/B000Y123DC under more buying choices but OOS at the moment.

However they do quote it as being version 2 on Amazon....

voted hot seems like a good price

Im using this piece of kit at the moment.

Bought it new from Argos with vouchers but paid about £20.
I can confirm this is an excellent bit of tackle with good range and cracking battery life.
The only down side is no indicator lights for Num Lock, Caps Lock, etc.

At this price, Buy it, i love it!

how big is the receiver with this, is it like a usb memory stick or wired to a bigger thing to go on the desk?
#5
can you charge this?
What sort of batteries does it take?
#6
would it work on the ps3?

How on earth would a wireless keyboard create less "desktop clutter"?:P

Whats the range like on this? I currently have a set with the receiver mounted on the wall about 1.5m high, with me sitting at about 0.5m and it doesn't allow me to get very far without starting to lose the signal. It also goes through loads of batteries - whats the life like on these?

Not much of a deal, more the standard price, a quick search on google shopping confirms this

Had this a while, very happy with it. Looks a good price to me.

I bought the MS Bluetooth mouse but wasn't able to set it up as it asked for a "passkey" and I had no idea where to find it!

Is it not in the manual? If you've lost it, they are usually something like 0000 or 1234.

Thank you for that, I'll try those. I have mislaid the manual due to some hasty tidying up for Christmas!

I still can't get the mouse to work. After some Googling I discovered a thread which says that MS, in their infinite wisdom, removed the drivers for the Bluetooth Mouse 5000 from Vista (which I am using).

I am going to try it on an XP machine when I return home, so I can tell if the mouse is working. Can anyone please confirm there should be light coming out of the bottom as there is on my corded mouse?

I only mention thgis in this thread because I think there may be compatability issues between these devices and Vista? :?

Dink, I'm sure you're only trying to be helpful to people and wanting answers yourself but please post on a technical forum for the help you need.

In any case, the technologies used are different so people buying this item will not have your issues.

Anyway, cheers OP I'm off to buy one, great price

The model number should be written somewhere on the mouse or keyboard - if you find it MS should have a digital copy of the manual on their website - if not just phone them.

Is it really a problem if someone asks some advise in a thread, yes its a money saving site, but I have saved plenty of dosh not buying stuff I thought was suitable when it turns out its not compatible or suitable (which isnt always aparent in the manufactuers gumff).

I would be interested to know how you get on dink, I've xp and looking for a longer ranger keyboard, my current logitech claims 2 meters which isnt the case - yes bought via internet so cant return,

Yes, it can become a problem as threads get side-tracked and then end up going off-topic.

If people really want to know more about these things they can go off to a multitude of review sites which will give far more detailed analysis of specific products than a few comments on here ever could.

If Plays picture is correct, it is V2 of the 700 model.

so will the mouse not work with vista?

i really need a wirless mouse and keyboard that will work vista, any ideas?
#25
got it yesterday. use the 5% play code for everything which brings it down to £17.09.

it is v2.

mouse works fine for me on vista, drivers all up and running in 8 seconds.

i use mine to connect to my hdtv using svga cable which makes my laptop into a 42" monitor.
