4gb version any good? I've heard some games require hard drive space and 4gb means you can't play them??

Anyone confirm this??

This was the case with one game, Halo Reach. However it was a bug, and is either fixed or due to be fixed in the next patch.

Apart from that, no, there is no truth in that rumour whatsoever. Oh, perhaps from possibly Final Fantasy xii (the MMORPG one). There are some games that you wont be able to get the DLC for (as it will take too much space) or install additional content (EG Forza 3 content disc) but as far as I know, there are no other games that you cannot play at all.

Oh, and thats without mentioning you can use USB memory sticks as storage devices (16gb) or just plug in your own sata hard drive instead.

I agree. This is not a good deal. It is just the regular old RRP.

The code is a good deal though, but these are now becoming spam.

Infact, I'm voting this as spam.

The voucher code is actually an employee only discount (friends and family included), however there are no checks when entering it at the checkout, thus unintentionally making it publicly usable.

Just in case anyone was wondering about the code.

Also it expires on Tuesday.

That works? Reading that only an official 250gb can work with the 4gb version?

Anyone confirm if this rumour is fake aswell?

I recently put a 120GB official drive into my 4GB S with no problems at all.

If you want to go the offical Microsoft route then Amazon sell Xbox hard drives (they all work with the new Xbox S Arcade) from £23.99 inc delivery for the 20gb one brand new to £41.98 to a new 60gb in delivery to £41.98 for a new 120gb inc delivery.

You can pick the DIY route and buy a Western Digital 2.5" 250gb hard drive for about £30.

No big deal.

Don't you have to somehow give a 3rd party hard drive, a 'microsoft signiture' in order for it to work ?

Surely just cloning an original and increasing the partition size should do that...
#23
I'm talking about if you buy a 4gb 360 slim and don't have an original 360 hard drive. I'm pretty sure they don't just plug & play.

The firmware (it hasn;t changed which is why they all will work) can be found here -
http://www.pcworld.com/article/150970/upgrade_your_xbox_360s_hard_drive_on_the_cheap.html

In fact ignoring the size business this is a great guide for the DIY approach.
