Yep saw earlier in the week that 60GB version due on Friday at £199 list
eg http://www.t3.com/news/new-60gb-xbox-360-console-to-launch-this-friday-for-£199?=36372

The 60GB is probably worth the extra £20, especially as it's a guarantee'd Falcon version. :?

The 60GB version is about a 4 fold increase in usable disk space as the O/S uses about 6GB for itself. 14 -> 54

Why not price match Play.com for the 60GB?

because i have a 120gb hard drive already and this would provide the cheapest option i believe!

This may or not be the HDMI/Falcon version though.

If you're looking to sell the HD, you'll get more money for 60GB than 20GB.

You can get a price match but it's 10% off the difference - not the total.

So you would get it for £156. If you want it, they do a warranty thing for £1.99/mo. So if your 360 red rings or the dog chews it in half, you'll get a new one from em :whistling:

really? would have been nice to get 10% off lol. main reason for going in store really though was to ensure it was a falcon

also, is the warranty thing for john lewis or pc world? if so have you by any chance got a link for more info?

Just sent my 360 to Germany because of the Red Ring. Free postage via UPS. Had an email after 4 days saying fixed and coming back. However the guy at UPS said some people have sent them back 4-5 times with the red ring!!!

My two and a half year old Xbox360 has just came back from Germany today after suffering the RROD. Just under a fortnight it was away.

Only problem now is it doesn't recognise my wireless controllers anymore, so it looks like it'll be going back again. :(

You need to synchronize the controllers with the console.

UPS have told me this also

Price match is only on items that are in stock.. i believe Play.com only have pre-order. They may put the price back to retail once launch comes....

This is a hot deal for those who wish to try get the Lot number lower then 816 so that they can have the firmware flashed.

Yeah, I know.

I'd tried that when I first connected the system back up and had no joy.

The synch button on the faceplate didn't seem right to me (no click when button pressed), so I guessed they hadn't attached the faceplate properly and gave it a little wiggle, which seemed to snap into place and the synch button had the familiar feel to it then.

Tried the contoller and it worked.

So no need to pack it back up again for it's second holiday in a fortnight just yet.

But from what the UPS guys seem to be saying it might be sooner that I'd hope.

I think this is a really good deal for a 20gb premium, but if the 60gb is an extra £20 it'd be worth putting the extra
#22
Voted cold - there's been loads of these so called deals on the 20gb model. This is the normal price due to the 60gb model coming out and this one being phased out.

A few days ago 2 PC World CSR's. told me that they do not "Price match" with either Play.com or Amazon.

They were either misinformed or lying.

They should match play.com and Amazon:

just been into my pc world in leeds and price matched with john lewis! he tried getting away with not giving me the 10% difference as well the cheeky git! pretty sure it is a falcon too so very happy!

MS now use a motherboard called Opus to repair older models. Opus is essentially a Falcon board but without HDMI designed to fit in a Xenon case, so any older non-HDMI 360 sent in for repair now should come back with one of those inside it. Before Opus, MS were just replacing like with like, so the chances of it dying again were higher than they are now.

Sadly, I think it's a more likely to be the second one.

It's still inside the 7 days, the question is whether it's worth chasing the Finnieston branch up for £1 just on principle ?
