im not sure they were green boxes so im guessing arcade units.
#5
a bargain for 49 quid
#6
If they were HDMI units then I'd say that's a super bargain. If they're the older RROD-prone units, then I'd be reluctant.

I'd just hope that you have the option to test check the M$ seal on em before buying, or else run the risk of finding it's been banned from XBOX live or something.

But will be taking a stroll over to my nearest Bbuster tomorrow. My best makes pro just went bang yesterday evening. Heat and Rep added.

These are mostly refurb consoles which will have been repaired by a third party. Or very old core systems! Just a heads up guys.

Why dont you get off your lazy **** and ring your local store yourself....Or go take a pic of it yourself.....
Noooo, you just want someone else to reassure you before you risk leaving the comfort of your own house, flat, bedsit, cardboard box ... Cross out those which dont apply.

Yeah check the seal as that means they are not banned from live or haven't been opened, What are you saying how will that tell you its been banned you cant possibly know till you attempt to go on line and as for the seal I've opened mine and flashed it and you wouldn't even know that its been opened as the seals intact and MS will take them back if there not banned irrespective of the sticker as I've sent modded consoles back before that still have the flash on them and they have replaced them.

It might be worth seeing if they will show you it working in store and take the chance to check the dashboard date as the old dash and old consoles can be jtagged which makes them way better than any newer unit and at £49.99 for a 360 its a steal even if you have had your machine flashed as a new drive will cost you £30 to replace and the old units may have the samsung drives in so for spares its worth the money.

i am ashamed at how hostile and rude some people have been on this post, no need for it at all. what DBXdarkangel asked is standard precedure when a deal is unconfirmed by other members. Its all to easy to be rude from the other end of the internet

on the other hand, good deal, will be checking it out. heat added

cheers

+1

Far too many bogus deals on this site lately that get super hot only later for us to find out it was a one off clearance in one store. This is 300 degrees already yet the OP admits "guessing its nationwide"

Yeah, I advice doubters to wait till someone has posted proof. Just to make sure the price is right and deal gets sold out.

Cold this a repost and should be removed! Got one last week when the original deal was posted.

I agree with the guy who asked for pictures.
So many times has a deal been posted where everyone jumps in their cars and finds out that the deal never existed and wastes everyones time and money.

Unfortunately that's part of the risk with this type of deal. Even if the OP posts a pic of the receipt or the items in store, it is beyond their ability to say whether it's nationwide or not, or even still in stock at the specific store.

For example, when modern warfare 2 came out, everyone had seen the deal, everyone knew it was real, there were numerous photo's as proof. But people still ended up with wasted time and money because their particular store didn't have them.

Not really a repost, that one was for the Wii. Yes, it contained the Xbox deal inside it, but in some cases that's probably not the best thing. I ignored the Wii post because I already have one, but looked into this one as it is of interest to me. Perhaps the OP should have done three threads for each of the three consoles, or perhaps squeezed them all into the title or first few lines.

Try READING before slating FFS!! I clearly said "run the RISK"...... R-I-S-K. It's a categorical FACT that there's a risk if the seals broken it's COULD have been modded and COULD have be banned. Nowhere did I say "Broken seal = modded console = banned console"

I'm well aware that a console can be flashed with a lite-touch bios and could work on line undetected. The point was to make sure people could ask to see the console before paying to see the seal's intact. If not then they should exercise caution. So it's important to check.

There Mr "oooh ooh look at me, I have a modded console and I put my M$ warranty sticker back perfectly and and I play pirate games online ".

A cheap but noisy media streamer which I can use by HD player with.

Great deal, and I can fit a spare drive to it.
#32
Regarding the whole XBox live and banning thing, if you did buy the console and find it was banned, couldn't you just return it under the warranty? I don't expect Blockbuster to quibble about it. They normally provide at least a 7 day warranty, if not a few months.

A repaired ring of death unit wouldn't be safe to buy really no. You can only polish a **** so much, its going to over heat again. But with your warranty you could probably just keep getting replacements once they do conk out (and I'm talking about your legal rights when I refer to warranty, ignore their "store policy" which will impose some kind of unreasonable limit like 30 day "because it is pre-owned....utter nonsense).

Wow great deal! Thanks OP.
If the manufacturing date is prior to July 2009, then this offer is an ideal candidate to be modified... what for I couldnt possibly say.

I own a wonderful device called a telephone. With it I can actually speak to someone AT MY LOCAL STORE! Its amazing, it truly is. I'd much rather the OP called every store throughout the country though, and posted stock levels at each one for me. Should be mandatory.

Store policy is 6 months guarantee for pre-owned products, which I would guess is a lot more then "your legal rights" cover. So yes if it breaks take it back, likelyhood is that if it has once had RRoD and it happens again it will be within the firt six months.

If I post a deal, I will not, out of principle, post a picture. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for me to do so. By contributing to the site, I do not owe anyone anything or need to justify the deal I post. I have gone out of my way to share the deal with everyone so that should be good enough.

If it's in stock in your local store then great. If not, tough. It's the risk you take.

People are under no obligation whatsoever to provide pictures to support their post. You can call the company or send an email to check if you don't want your time wasted. Sometimes you have to do a little bit of work to save yourself money, not everything will fall in to your lap.
