Well worth having. I've got my xbox linked up to a cronky huge CRT. Got my cable from CEX, note that you might not get the adapter bit on the bottom D female to female thing because I got one without but my mate got one with his. You only need that with old monitors with the unremovable cables. The one in the picture above doesn't have it attached. I'd just ask them if any have them on if you need one, otherwise here's where I got mine.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Female-Monitor-Gender-Changer-Adapter/dp/B000Q6LSHW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1293119911&sr=8-2

If you do use a CRT then run either in the resolutions that end 720 or 1080 because it uses the internal scaler otherwise and the picture isn't anywhere near as sharp. My monitor is 4:3 but I just squeeze the image down to widescreen.

And I just use it because the VGA port is the only port that's not in use. The colors are a little bit flat when compared to HDMI, but it's still very much worth having, especially if your Xbox doesn't have a HDMI port.

Is this with a TV or monitor? I know yo're supposed to go to display and set the reference levels to expanded if using something that's expective output from a PC, have you tried that?

anyone recommend cable which allow revo 3600 to split hdmi and optical sound as i'm connecting my revo to projector and would like optical to amp which does not have hdmi inputs?

Heh I remember at launch, these cables were impossible to find and were going for up to £80 on eBay!

I tried one of these on my Panasonic plasma and I found the picture to be nowhere near as sharp as the HDMI connection, and actually had some ghosting.

I don't know if it was the 360 or the cable to blame, but when I hook up my MacBook to the plasma using the VGA port the picture looks cracking.

Still, at this price it's worth buying and trying out! :)

I remember they were like gold dust, only managed to get one as a friend worked at Game.
He kindly paid for it as I managed to sell his second 360 on ebay for a small fortune :p

Good luck finding one - they have been this price before but when I looked most stores had no stock
