I have been monitoring the price and waiting for the best time to strike; good value since the PC dongle is very hard to come by on its own + you get a spare wireless xbox controller. What's not to like?

i doubt that this is fake, you must have got it from an amazon seller, not amazon directly

ah ok, clear as mud...welll with amazon you take the chance buy it and send it back if it doesnt come with the dongle
#8
So this is just a standard 360 controller with a wireless receiver? Therefore it will work with a 360?
#9
this does NOT come with a wireless receiver

and is not sold by amazon, but someone using amazon to sell through
#10

Great find, thanks very much, just ordered one!
#16
I suspect the guy who only got the controller got it through a reseller. The whole point of the "for Windows" tag is that the crossfire bit comes with it. Otherwise its just a xbox controller.

Ordered it last night so fingers crossed. Will probably keep it for this price as I needed one anyway.
#17
Thankyou! Basically a new xbox controller with a free PC dongle...I can't have too many xbox pads, the rate that I wear out the thumbstick rubber :-)

Great deal!

In case anyone is unsure whether this comes with a USB receiver or not, I just checked the MS site for their Xbox 360 Controllers for Windows and they only manufacture one version of the wireless pad for Windows, and if you look at the Quickstart documentation here http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/documentation/default.aspx?type=Gaming&sku=JR9-00001 you'll see that it shows that the USB receiver is included in the package. The technical datasheet for the product also mentions the USB receiver.

Hope this helps anyone deciding to go for this deal. I'm tempted myself but I've spent far too much on games/PC parts already thanks to HUKD.

if any one wants the black one its here at novatech

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Peripherals/PCJoysticksAndControllers/Microsoft/JR9-00007.html

its is £28 pounds tho

Great price! Been looking for a replacement dongle, as mine died. Buying this and flogging the controller to a m8 . Cheers OP!
#21
does anyone know how to get one of these working with xbmc live?
#22
D. Phillipson says:
this listing is for the controller only, there is no receiver just the controller, we sell the receiver seperately, sorry for any confusion

Do play.com do price matches?

I don't see that comment anywhere on the page?

The majority of the reviews also say the receiver is included.

Plus in the system requirements it does not state that the wireless receiver is required - so you'd think it would be included.

I don't understand, if it doesn't state it then surely one would assume it's not included?
EDIT: I understand what you are saying now, but why would a product say so and so is also required when it can also be used for the xbox...hmm this isn't very clear on amazons part and I want to buy this but only if the receiver comes with it...

Yeah product info is rubbish - I've bought it. If there is no receiver I'll either argue till they send me one or just get a refund.

Not sure if I can be bothered with the hassle, would have to post it back and then what would happen, would they refund the postage?

Could you even win the claim as it does not directly say "comes with receiver" the only thing making anyone think that is some of the comments.

Guess I will leave it for now but I did want this as my wired xbox pad for the pc has broke in less than 7 months, the wires a bit dodgy so was thinking of going wireless - Wish I did from the start now but I usually pick wired over wireless when possible
#29
One of the amazon reviewers say that their order came with the crossfire dongle. So, guessing this should be all in the one order after-all. Ordered :)
#30
heated, top deal
#31
they said to me when i had problems with them that it doesnt state reciever included so wouldnt refund even though it was a fake controller
#32
Wickedteen, who is "they"? :?

How about you show us your order details so we can see exactly "who" your order came from. Whenever I buy from Amazon, I'm made fully aware of where my item is coming from, e.g. I bought a vga to displayport adapter last week on Amazon's site and it clearly showed it coming from Aquarius computers and not Amazon.
#33
well the offer looks legit from amazon but still would have prefered to see the words crossfire adapter included in the description.
#34
id defo order if it was for a black controller at this price, shame
#35
Ordered :)

Just got to hope it comes with the receiver now.
#36
I just want the dongle for around £8 is that so much to ask for

This has been discontinued due to all the adaptors failing. Google it.

or could have just given us a link...

dcx_badass
Or you could stop trying to be smart and realise I might have posted from my phone, so no I couldn't have just "given you a link".

Then give us some keywords? Does your 'phone' stop you doing that?
#39
If anyone is ordering it but doesn't necessarily want the dongle - please highlight your inevitable For Sale or Trade thread to me ASAP - thanks!
