Never heard of this e-tailer before. Anyone use them?

Great price if you cant get the 10% discount at HMV =D
#2
i've used them ages ago for photography related stuff and never had a problem. so i dont think they should provide any problems with this kinda thing.
#3
anybody used this company before? any feed back on them ?
#4
isn't it only like 17 pounds on XBOX live direct for 2000 points ? So not much different - and instant :) ?
#5
I got xbox live the other day and I can't believe people will part with 800 points to put there man in the game in a bandana and white t-shirt in rainbox six vegas!
Thats like £6 or so isn't it? WTF
#6
£16.99 at play.com for the same thing if anyone wants to spend a bit more and use someone a bit more well known.

Dave.
#7
But why not buy direct ?

I spent my points on the GRAW2 new-maps - money well spent
#8
You can get cheaper from Game.co.uk if you bulk up.

2 * 2100 MS Points @ £17.50 = £35.00
Less £5 off £30 spend code 'SENSE' = £30.00
Also 3% Quidco = less 90p

Works out at £14.55 per 2100 points.
#9
Reasons for not buying direct are well documented.

2000 points for 17 GBP = 117 points per pound (direct)
2100 points for 15.95 = 131 points per pound (from M2)
2100 points for 14.55 = 144 points per pound (from Game)
2100 points for 14.44 = 145 points per pound (From HMV, 10% NUS/VIP, 5% quidco)

There are currently 59 games on XBL:Arcade, and lots of other addons for games. Most games cost 800 MS points, and others vary. So far another 50 titles have been confirmed for release.

This website is about hot deals, and saving money. Thus looking around for deals (such as this, or from game.co.uk) to save money is a good thing. That's why I dont buy direct.

I actually bought these from this company for the release of GH2, took around 2 weeks to arrive as they dont seem to stock them. Would recommend paying the extra £1 and shopping elsewhere

[QUOTE=borandi]Reasons for not buying direct are well documented.

But bought direct points don't expire whereas redeemed cards do after 30 days.

You remaining few points after spending therefore dissapear after 30 days.
#12
You enter the code, your gamertag is credited with 2100 points.

You can spend these points however, and whenever you like.

They don't dissappear after 30 days... :|

Care to provide a link for evidence? What use is a claim if you cant provide evidence. In actual fact, I can provide evidence to the contrary, I've had 3000 points for over a month from cards, and none of my points have been expired.
#14
If you buy the points they do not run out...

however if you get some points from M$ for free or like the virgin offer for free points about a year ago these had a runout date

There is no expiry on points cards. I had 2100 points sitting in my account for over 6 months.

i think this is the misunderstanding - thanks for clearing it up :)

Purchased Points Cards - No expiry upon redemption
Promotional Points Cards - 30 day expiry upon redemption (but check the T&C's on your scratchcard)

I think bundled points cards (e.g. the one in the 12 Month live+live vision camera bundle) do not expire too.

mx2 are a reputable company i bought off them when they had just started off -- they were importers then and i got pokemon sapphire yay like £30

Heh you don't pay £15 for an expiring card, if you do I'd worry about where it's from

i bought something from them in their early days, they were great. I used them more often than play.com.

But now... Not so sure. In January this year it took them a week to ship something that they told me was 'out of stock', 3 weeks to ship something that was 'in stock', both items in the same order. Annoyingly each item was an ink cartridge and my printer needed both to run.

Some games are terrible for their premium content costs (Oblivion's Horse Armour, The Godfather's pay-real-money-for-game-money-thats-worth-sod-all), but some games get it right:

Take Crackdown for example. The latest 'Title Update' (game update on boot) fixed 13 elements of the game amongst others (not all bugs, most of these are changes thanks to user feedback etc)

So those fixes were free. They also added some new FREE content:
[LIST]
[*]Keys to the City: The ultimate Cheat Mode!
[*]Vehicle Impounding
[*]Co-op Trophy sequences
[*]Psychotic Mission Trials
[/LIST]
These updates also add the 100 gamerscore points (achievements) missing from the original release.

And for 800 Microsoft Points, you could also get:
[LIST]
[*]New Vehicles: Agency Buggy, Agency Racecar, Agency Armored Vehicle
[*]Street Racing
[*]New Equipment: MSK Lobber, EX1 “Proximity Charge”, HRX “Harpoon”, MZ360 “Mini-Gun”, VS1 “Cloaking Device”
[*]New Game Types: Max-Agility Rooftop Races, Stockpile, Checkpoint Chase, Rocket Tag
[/LIST]
This adds another possible 250 gamerscore points to try and get!

£6.67 (approx) for all that? That's not bad at all in my book. Especially as it makes you play the game in a completely different way.

So even those too cheap to pay for the premium update get a load of new stuff. And, if you play with someone on Live Co-Op, and they have the premium content, you get to play with it all for free whilst you play with them

Yeah but I don't like some things about points...

Let's take the newly released Gears of War maps. They were originally intended to be released for free, but Microsoft made them charge for them. Eventually they will become free (in September I think). But for the mean time it puts a divide in the online community; those who bought the maps, those who didn't. Now I can't join half of the matches as I don't have the right maps >_<

I think developers are using DLC as an excuse to sometimes release half finished games, holding the rest back for DLC, and then charging for it.

well at least with some games you're buying an actual download. for some games your'e paying to unlock the content from off the disc, meaning the DLC was already there on the DVD! (look out for DLC that is 108Kb in size, that's an unlock key)

MS has made it so that the first 1000GS comes either as part of the game, or as free downloadable content sometime in the future. Then, if the developers so wish, they can add another 250 GS, either free or paid.

Same with XBLA games, 200GS included in price, extra 50GS either free or paid, at developers discretion.

Indeed, some things are stupid. Like EA's Tiger Woods, pay for all golfers. Or, you could play for a few hours, get them yourself. But, on the flip side, you get great downloads (Crackdown DLC) which are worth what you pay for.

GoW Maps come free 3rd September =D

Edit: Thanks to Dr Allsopp for mismanaging his quote tags (/sarcasm), now it looks like when people quote him that I said something stupid, when in actual fact, he did.

HMV are gay and wont accept my student number, and couldnt be arsed with buying 4200 points from game, so went with MX2...

Good deal. Thanks.

And for those who go "buy it on Live", well you have to sign up a credit card to your account and I dont have a credit card. And besides if I singed up a credit card Id end up spending A LOT more cash on Live points!

Yeah definitely, some extra content is good som is bad, but its your choice in the end. If something is overpriced dont buy it!

There a fair amount of good extra content and Arcade games though (Geometry Wars, and Smash TV for example).
