Another £5-10 off and I may be tempted to replace my Xbox 360 pad with one of these although I've heard some gamers saying the LB/RB shoulder buttons aren't as good so I'm not sure.

Heat. Remember it works with PC too. (providing you have a micro usb cable)

what benefits does this have over a 360 controller if using with a PC?
#7
Mmm. That's the price I was waiting for. Thank you. Ordered. :)
#8
Thanks - got one ordered ready for when I get my Xbox One

I'm still waiting for the Titanfall controller they had on offer last week, sent two emails now and not had replies.
Suppose I'll be waiting the ten days before I can make a claim against them:(
Poor customer service but good price if it arrives.

I phoned them this morning, I'm also still waiting for my controller that was allegedly dispatched on Monday by first class post, I was advised if it didn't arrive by Monday to call them for a replacement.

Cheers Zetec Andy, Monday it is then :)

0 benefit just personal preference. You can't use the xb1 controller wirelessly on a PC at the moment. Personally i prefer the xb1 controller having used it for about 6 months now

Does anyone know when we can expect these controllers to be supported wirelessly for PC? And whether they use the old Xbox360 wireless protocol or if we'll need a new adapter?

I've been looking at this and found nothing announcing it. I'd estimate that it won't use the 360 dongle though, either it'll connect directly via wifi or you'll have to buy a new dongle. Most people I've seen are discussing new dongles but again it's all speculation.

yeah they tend to rattle a bit when the vibration kicks in. I purchased a 2nd controller directly from MS which isn't as bad but still the LB rattles especially when playing Forza.

It's just that I've seen so many conflicting opinions.

Some say the new LB/RB buttons are now too small and fiddlesome relative to the 360 pad. Others say it's now quicker to 'roll' one's index finger/s from LB to LT/RB to RT and it helps it certain games.

It's difficult trying to work out who's being honest and who's being a hater, troll or fanboy.

Most seem to agree the d-pad is improved (not exactly a major feat!) and that the thumbsticks feel better to use though.

To be honest I've had about 4 days use from the xbox one pad it feels snug and more comfortable than the 360 pad, it may just be newness but I prefer it in every way.
Best thing would be to call in a "Game" shop and try one out as everyone's opinion on here is relative so some are going to be different.

Thank you for the feedback and for the advice. I'm not sure about venturing out to a shop because, being a PC gamer, the internet tells me I must be a 'basement dweller'! Joking aside, you sound a sensible type who's not plagued by the irrational fanboy lunacy of some here so now I'm more keen to buy said item. :)

It's just experience, I bought the PS4 and used the PS4 controller for Titanfall on PC but didn't agree wth the PS4 due to there aren't enough games for it and the controller fell apart the first time after a few month. Plus I missed forza.
In my opinion fan boys argue because they don't want to believe they made a bad choice in console and with PC gamers it's to justify the money spent on high end parts so no one will win.
Blind leading the blind springs to mind, happy to help :)

what benefits does this have over a 360 controller if using with a PC?

Benefits are:
The B button is in a nice position.

Negatives are:
Less comfortable to hold than a 360 pad
The sticks have no resistance
The triggers are like lumps of cheese
The bumpers are too close to triggers

I can also only offer some limited use I've had off my friend's controller but I'm a big fan.

I found it very comfy,
I like the analogue sticks - they feel a lot more responsive and I like the increased indents for your thumbs.
The dpad is much improved, although I still prefer the dpad every generation of the playstation controller has (Although I've not tried a ps4 controller yet).
Triggers are good although not convinced vibrations add much.

I've just ordered one for the pc with play and charge from tesco and my only current gripe is the lack of wireless.

Not really sure what this signifies?
Is this evidence to your argument that the xbox pad is crap? If so I pitty you.

This is the only way i can think someone can get a cheesy xbox pad

One of the main reasons why I stuck with M$, I was going to get a PS4 instead of XB1 but after using the Xbox 360 controller (and now the XB1 controller) I hate the PS3 controller and although the PS4 controller is much better it's still not a patch on the M$ ones, (whoever did those triggers on the PS controllers needs shooting)

Yeah I bowed to peer pressure (always been team Xbox) as my COD buddies all wanted to get a PS4. Ghosts was gash, and now we're all stuck with PS4's :D

I think I'll get an Xbox One next year, or whenever the first big price drop is.

Personally for me I find it easier to roll index finger from LB to LT as others have said. D-pad is a lot better although as you said not exactly hard to do that.
The only negative for me is that the thumbsticks were slightly smaller which I didn't like although I use Kontrolfreeks so for me that part no longer matters.

No. They are shaped and feel like lumps of cheese when you press them. I'm not fan of the pad personally and I have all the consoles - no need to pity me.
