you only need to have someone at school or any college to qualify for this

This has been a regular every now and then; but it's always worth bringing up for newcomers.

Note this version does not come with MS Publisher, which is a real pity but if you're not into DTP then hot.

That's not a reason to vote this cold. Just because you might not qualify doesn't mean it's a bad deal for the thousands that will.

Hot.

Excellent - Just ordered! Its available to primary school children too.
#6
do you get just the disc or do you get the licensing key code as well?
#7
you get both.
PS have alook at options on the home page for enhanced packages e.g Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 & Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 (bit dearer but good value if you need the extra programs)

That was the reason i posted this.Microsoft has an offer for uni students but this is the only one i could find which gives a good deal for school kids and includes Outlook .

Did anyone order these and did they arrive?

Or you could pay £40 for Office 2007 Ultimate edition at Microsoft's Ultimate Steal website: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-uk/default.aspx
#11
Hot deal for those who can't get by with the free Openoffice.

Yeah, the above deal is better-- if you're a uni student or know someone willing to give up their entitlement by using their uni email address. I got it.
#14
thanks, didn't realise primary school kids counted too.

I'm going for the edition with publisher too for £44, bargain!

I've ordered this about a week ago and arrived with a disc in an A5 Envelope 3-4 days later. There is an activation key code with the disc. There is no packaging or the Microsoft box you see on the picture. It stated on the disc that you cannot resale it, which is fair enough.
#16
Ultimate Steal is better tbh.
#17

yes i got my disc and key last month,
well worth it.

but only if your a uni student!

Hi just to say that this deal is so good. Have recently purchased the Enterprise version. Arrived 6 days after payment paid. Luckily I am doing a part time course at my local college so I qualify. Must be worth signing up for a free community type course at college just to satisfy yourself & Microsoft that you quality at time of purchase.

its not about stupidity, you've proved that with your comment! :whistling:

doesnt get my vote im afraid - Open office is just as good, and its FREE!
#23
Would be wary of purchasing this if you are anything other than a full time student. The terms on these offers in the past tend to specifically exclude anyone with less than 10 hours contact time per week...this would exclude part time courses, as well as many "full time" university students!

That doesn't even make sense. =/

The qualification criteria for Software4Students aren't as stringent as for The Ultimate Steal. There are plenty who would be eligible for the former but not the latter.

As good as OpenOffice is, I'd say £35 for MS Office is a no-brainer.

I've never had an issue with this.

If you don’t meet the criteria and are thinking of invading the licensing terms, then why on earth would you buy this? Just download the bit torrent and you don’t pay a penny.
Your may as well play things legitimately or not at all, you wouldn’t steal a car and then go and buy tax for it, or rob a bank and pay the tax and NI on it.

The simple fact is though that MS office is far better than open office. OO has its place, it's far better than say MS works (I frequently suggest people switch from works to OO) but the applications simply aren't in the same class as their MS counterparts.
Free is always a good price but I'd gladly pay this cost for the improved quality of software it provides.
#28
Do folks know about the Home Use Program? I recently got Office Enterprise for only the cost of P&P (£13) through it. You can only get this if you're employer participates in the scheme though.

If you have 2 comps, say a desktop and a laptop then the softwareforstudents one is better.
#33
If you're not a student, this is exactly as illegal and morally wrong as pirating it, so save yourself the cash.

If you are, it's a really good deal.

COLD - Because its been this price for a while, and its strictily for students only.

This should not have been posted, as a lot of people who are not students will likely order it.

Post reported to moderator. Sorry.

That's a bit silly. Every online purchase will have terms and conditions that must be adhered to. It's up to every individual purchaser to decide if they can agree to those terms and conditions, not a poster on HUKD.

I need to buy an office package for my laptop, but my course will be ending in the next few months.

If i buy the ultimate steal one for students, does it become invalid after i leave uni?

Also does anyone know if you get a cd with the ultimate steal package as well or is it just a download only option?

Whilst I put open office on some laptops at work, because it can do enough for some people, it is no where nearer as good as Microsoft Office.

just wonder if i use it in the business unit, but registered using home address , is that ok? i mean if i disconnect the pc with internet , will they have record?

can anyone confirmed what details are required during the registration process during installation?

if i use one student to register, can i use it for business use?

hope can get an answer

Dont be so ridiculous. It is up to the consumer as to whether they abide by the terms and conditions and this deal has every right to be here. It has nothing to do with the site. If you arent a student, dont order it. If you are a student, thank the OP for posting this fantastic deal.

Exactly. My daughter will be applying for her first proper summer job this year and so far every listing she has looked at stated that good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Having OpenOffice (which she uses daily) is not going to help come interview time.
