Miele Cat & Dog Upright cleaner 1800 Watt Power Red. This item is listed on Hughes Direct for £253.00 which is the cheapest I have found online and I have been hunting hard.!! However, if you use the code 'return4' it takes 4% from the total price making it £242.88. Coupled with free UK delivery I thought this was a hot deal.! No cashback found but good value nonetheless..!

I have been looking hard at this vacuum too. Don't forget you can get a 10yr warranty direct with Miele for £30.

*EDIT* - Anyone know how long the bags last before they need changing?

10 year Warranty is mint.! I don't know though if you have to buy the hoover from a certain store in order to qualify for this.?? Hughes Direct offered 5 years with my purchase for £50 odd so I'm not sure if you have to have some kind of registration card in order to qualify.!? I did not purchase this so I intend to find out.!

weighs a ton, sold mine on fleabay

From what I have read, you just register your vacuum with Miele after purchase and then enquire about the 10yr warranty. @ checkly73 - did you sell it on the bay simply because it was so heavy? Is it that much of a problem?

John Lewis have the £30 10 years warranty. They do the 7210 (I think) for £229 so thats £260 for 10 years hoovering. I think leakes are doing Dysons with a 6 years warranty.

this is an excellent product. I brought one 6 months ago.
Only feels heavy because of the suck power, if you put it on another setting like floor it doesn't feelheavy at all.
10 year warranty is great and they send you pack of bags and filters free.

The 10yr warranty is actively promoted on the John Lewis site but when you actually click on it to purchase, it takes you to the Miele site. I think you don't have to purchase from JL to qualify. Just view the warranty section on the Miele site for more details.

Hi, yes sold it because it was so heavy - wife couldn't carry it up the stairs - never checked it before buying. Weighs 9.5KG ! Sebo is only 7KG, better quality and 5 year guarantee for free, who wants a vac for 10 years anyway ?

I'm sorry I have to disagree with you.! Yes it may be heavy or heavier than a Sebo by 1.5kg but better quality.?? I think not.! I have been sad enough to do lots of homework on Miele, Dyson and Sebo and Miele win every-time hands down.. Miele has a larger bag capacity and keeps 100% of it's suction even when it is full whereas Sebo loses suction.

Also Sebo does not achieve it's main purpose which is to trap dust and dirt inside the hoover as it is not sealed.! Miele however is completely sealed.. Try hoovering in the sunlight and watch the dust particles escape from your hoover..!! And if the hoover is still working as well in 10 years time I would be happier with my purchase than if it failed in 5.! Can I suggest carrying the hoover up the stairs for your wife or even hoovering yourself.! ;)

Picked up a cracking deal for one of these today. Went for a snoop around local stores to see how heavy one was and my local Comet had an ex-display one on offer for £149 as they are about to go through a refurb. Needless to say I snapped it up and the sales chap threw in a smelly spray thingy for the dust bag too which is normally a tenner. Nice result, don't often get in on a bargain :)

carry the vacuum upstairs ??? are you mad ??

don't agree with your views on Miele - but hey we are all different and I respect your right to an opinion.

I think Miele are overpriced dated pieces of tech that relys heavily on customers buying on old fashioned ' benefits '
If the vacuum is that good why charge for the 10 year guarantee ?

by the way - I sell graded Miele vacs for a living - and we have a plentiful supply of them ;)

It depends, I have a dog and the bag gets full of hairs. It still lasts a few weeks though. You also get a set of bags when you get the 10 year guarentee so it doesn't cost a lot.
