Incidentally, The reason I found this deal was that I purchased a Miele w1514 from the Comet Clearance Centre In Glasgow tonight for £289.00. I am hoping that I will be able to get Miele to guarantee my machine for the full 5 years aswell, making it even more of a bargain than what I had already received.

All the Washing Machines in the Comet Clearance Centre were half price and they had quite a few more Mieles at bargain prices. HTH

Umm, Which recently found that Miele were amongst the most unreliable manufactures. So, I guess that you'll be needing that warranty then.

BTW, you get 3 years under the sale off goods act - if you can be bothered to read it.

I find your tone rather unnecessary. The OP posted the information in good faith.

BTW, perhaps I missed something in the latest Which? magazine (possible, as I only flicked through it) - where does it say the Miele is one of the most unreliable manufacturers. Everything I have read to date states the exact opposite.

Thanks to the op for this. Miele Washing Machines are in fact THE most reliable and should be good for 20 years. :)

I find that very very hard to believe, Miele washing machines and dishwasher are amomgst the very best you can buy, if not the best.

slight jealousy perhaps......total rubbish. i subscribe to which and the opposite is true - they are the no.1 brand for washing machines, siemens are also very good so im told......they are very quiet too, unlike our old but trusty zanussi (which lasted 7 years) but sure the zanussi was about 350 and the miele 4446 was about 1000...first time we used it i walked into the kitchen and my wife said it was on full spin, i was amazed...quieter than a kettle (the zanussi sounded like i stood next to concorde, well it did towards the end of its life when the bearings went)
i was sceptical but my wife insisted it was good, so bought it and well impressed...and this coming from a bloke!!

actually 6 years if you bother to read it.....but try claiming it...such a minefield a warranty simplies it....better if its a no cost option.....

one thing to bear in mind tho is the miele warranty only gives you a 5 or 10 year warranty with a compensation limit of £500 i think.....so 1 claim after 3 years means you arent covered for the remaining 2 or 7 years

If you join the free online trial for which you will see that Miele Machines are ALWAYS best buys. This is the reason why I deliberately purchased a miele. If you can be bothered then sign up to the free trial and investigate before making such ridiculous statements online.

Surely it must be obvious that if a manufacturer is prepared to offer a 10 year warranty on some of its products then the reliability must be good. Obviously no equipment is infallible however I think that I have chosen wisely and it is up to others to do the same.

Hi all,

I recently moved into my first home and the washing machine I was given has died on me. I have read several threads on HDUK over the past few months and Miele has had the best reviews. I would like to take advantage of this offer. Miele Washing Machines are more expensive than others but seem a good investment because they are built to last and I think 10 years guarantee to back this up is fantastic.

Unfortunately however, I am on a very tight budget. Can anyone find a Miele Washing Machine that is affordable? ie competative price, in the sale, vouchers, other discounts such as egg card, quidco etc. The models in the promotion are W4144 WPS, W4446 WPS, W4449 WPS, W3985 WPS.

I need your help - I have been looking since the last promotion from Aug 07 - Nov 07 and have not found anything that stands out!! The last thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/93347/free-10-year-and-5-year-warranties-/ seemed to go dead so hopefully people can keep looking until this offer dies?

Thanks loads in advance for your efforts,
Dane

I think the deal that I listed in the first thread is about the cheapest you are going to get on a miele

The Miele Prestige Plus is not in the 10 year promotion. The models in the promotion are only: W4144 WPS, W4446 WPS, W4449 WPS, W3985 WPS.

I have used all the price comparison sites I am familiar with but found no eye catching affordable prices.

Several things I have read have urged people to avoid Comet Clearance. I have heard mixed reviews, it sounds like it’s luck of the draw. However, I don’t think Miele will honour their 10 year guarantee for auctions. You bid final price on Comet Clearance so it is not included in the promotion. If I could get one off Comet Clearance for £250 I would be over the moon but prices seem to go way above this….

If I was buying it with just 5 year warranty I may as well go for a Siemens Washing Machine which currently comes with 5 year guarantee for 2/3 of the price. Although I really do want a Miele.

I thought it would be really good if someone could find a good deal for a Miele Washing Machine and also take advantage of 10 year guarantee promotion.

I know Dixons, Empire Direct have codes regularly. I know Comet (or Currys?) had a code for Miele products around 2 months ago. Also, not sure if certain suppliers offer a lot of cashback to lower the price? I’ve never used Quidco

If I don’t find anything now I might wait until the summer (lighter nights so people aint scanning the web thus sales go down) and hope the 10 year promotion is on then. Miele appear to be running this promotion often now.

I just rang up Comet Clearance and they said their items are not eligible for this Miele promotion, regardless if it is a new item (which is cosmetically damaged). I have emailed Miele for some clarity.

They still have good deals though because they are half the price from any other supplier and the machines are still built to last. They only come with 12 months guarantee and don’t deliver outside of Scotland.

Danegerous - Did you get any clarity from Miele about the clearance centre products ?

I have just registered for my 2nd year with them direct. I am going to chance it with the 5 yr warranty.

Incidentally I bought mine from the comet clearance store and not the rubbish online auction site.

Think I'll add my tuppence to this thread;-)

I have a Meile dishwasher, used it perhaps 20 or 30 times in 18months since new(no ex warranty) and it broke down, contacted Meile, they sent an engineer out at a cost of £55 ,who informed me the motor was kaput and would cost about or more than a new dishwasher to fix,I politely declined his kind offer.
Looked at the Meile website, which says "our dishwashers typically last 20 odd years or 15000 washes"explained to Meile about my experience, they sent the same bloke back to repair it on xmas eve for no extra charge, and fair enough it's been ok since then, touch wood.

Someone mentioned on this thread about a warranty being less bother, sure but it depends........
If you purchase a warranty for an appliance(in my case a washing machine for 5 years).
If the company use contractors i.e. farm the repairs out,you better hope the contractors find the fault in 2 goes otherwise the makers won't honour it,as happened with me(they said the repairers should have diagnosed the fault earlier)and I became the piggy in the middle.........the company I'm talking about makes some top rated mobiles now apparently;-)

You know these consumer mags rate appliances on which make they are, they should rate them on which company actually sold them to you......that would make interesting reading.

Sorry missed out a bit..........

i got a Miele Prestige Plus from the comet clearence. I spoke to miele before buying it and they said cause i am buying it from comet and not ebay it would be covered. When you buy from the clearence site they send you a receipt out and it doesn't mention a auction it just shows the original price - a discount.

i have sent my receipt off will let you know how i get on. the above washing machine falls under the 5 year warranty i picked the washing machine up for £390 with postage which i was happy to pay
