I have this, I highly recommend - always had Miele, tried Dyson once big mistake, went back to Miele with this model, cracking price you won't be disappointed ;)
#6
good find, just wished this was the upright version
#7
Good price. I love my Miele.
#8
Superb deal and the cylinder model is a breeze to use

Been looking for one for some days, liked S5281 due to reviews but is expensive, however this one seems very good, but does anyone know if the turbo brush is included and what period is the warranty. The picture shows the turbo brush yet the product detail does not state???

This is brilliant vacuum cleaner, at a fantastic price. Hot! Hot!
I bought this a few months ago from Comet for 160, down from 199. I have used all sorts of vacuums, but this has been the best so far. I have a Siemens bagged and Vax bagless upright, but they have been left in the garage ever since this arrived.

Superb. I was literally talking about getting a new hoover 10 mins ago.. log onto hukd and see this, cheers :)

I would need a bigger 1 than this I have 4 cats ... it would clog up quickly and I am also curious how they are going to fit up the tube cos it looks kinda narrow
#13
Problem I have with Miele vacuums is the pathetic 6.5 m cable length.

Yes it includes the turbo brush head as well as a standard head. The standard warranty is 2 years but you can extend that to TEN years for an additional £30 at miele.co.uk. I think that shows the confidence they quite rightly have in the longevity of their products. We bought a similar model eight years ago and it's still going strong.

I bought one of these for £150 a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd got a real bargain. The Debenhams price is a steal! The bags aren't cheap at £10 for 4 (or £8-ish on Amazon) but they are worth the money. We have a good sized 4-bedroomed house and we find that one box of bags lasts up to a year.

If you're in the market for a vacuum cleaner you won't regret buying one of these.

I have had this hoover for about 5 years. Its a-m-a-z-i-n-g.......
Much better than the two Dysons I had before this that only lasted about a year each oO
I would recommend it wholeheartedly.......

Bought one last year and it came with the turbo brush, which is superb on carpets, as well as another standard brush which is more effective on wooden floors. Mine also came with a mattress cleaning attachment- not sure if that is supplied as standard. The warranty is two years but you can extend this to a ten year warranty direct from miele for £30. The only downside is the cost of replacement bags but these can be bought cheaper on ebay. I have 3 cats and the miele does a fantastic job. So all in all I would definitely recommend this.

Used Dyson for the last 15 years. But thanks to this site, about 2 months ago, I bought a Miele Allervac rather than this Cat & Dog version (even though we have 3 cats) and have just changed the bag for the 1st time. I absolutely love it. No more Dysons for me. I particularly like the variable vacuum and the fact it actually uses bags - a lot less fuss and far cleaner then the bagless, which may sound odd to some. Also, when you get the machine, you can go online to their site, tap in your serial# and pay £30 for a 10 year warranty! Buy one.

Ha...snap! Hello fellow crazy cat person. :3

great vacuum's I have 3 of these.

Great bit of kit, ours is still going strong after 12 years with some damn hairy Labradors and cats in the house. Picks up hair with ease and that's the original 1800 watt model
Best place for bags I have found is some look a likes from http://www.lmelectricalspares.co.uk/ who happen to be just up the road from us, found them by accident on eBay years ago, and they are just as good as the genuines at a quid each.

Only other thing I would recommend is replacing the carbon filter unit every few years, this will restore the vac to like new for a few quid. Never had to do any other maintenance to it at all.

Thank you indieblue for your feeback....about to order and have one question.
John Lewis are selling at £149, Debenhams ta £134...saving £15.

Which retailer is better should a fault arise??? or my other thinking is saying that many reviews have been very strong on this brand ie hardly any on faults...so the question of which retailer does not matter.

Great vacuums. Copes with all the fluff, whiskers and cat litter. Filters need replacing. Had mine for about 6 years and paid more than this

Your last point is right,. These are very reliable machines so you're unlikely to have any problems with them. If you do have any issues then Miele's own support is very good so you can just cut the retailer out of the equation. The turbo brush on our original machine stopped working after a few years and when we rang Miele they immediately sent us a new brush. They didn't even want to see the broken one. That's what I call service.

If you pay £30 for the 10-year warranty then you know you'll have a working machine for the next decade. That's an exceptional deal in my opinion.

Superb deal, paid £160 from John Lewis pre-xmas, excellent vac.

Our S5261 cat & dog has just died (abused it for 5 years so am seriously impressed). Considering replacing it with this one for £100+ less but not sure whether there is a big difference between the two that I have missed? Does anyone know the difference?

…abused it for 5 years …

How do you abuse a vacuum cleaner.
Ah wait, don’t answer that.

Used to be if you signed up for extended warranty they sent you a box of a dozen or so boxes of bags. Ive got a whole pile of them in the loft that will probably take me a few years to get through. Sounds like they don't do that anymore, which is a shame. Also a Miele convert here. (Although I'm not a huge Dyson fan, the handheld vac is really nice. But for general hoovering, Miele for me)
#36
We bought one of these 12 years ago after binning the Dyson DC02 (piece of junk!) when it gave up sucking up dust just after the warranty expired..........so much for SIR James Dyson's vaunted "cyclone technology"! We still have it and it works just as it did when new.
#37
Cheers. Have old one of these (well over 10 years) which we now use for cleaning the car as attachments worn out but motor still fine, bought smaller miele model a year ago to replace but just not big enough for the house and our persian cat ...... so gone for this, hopefully wont have to replace for another 15 years :D
#38
Miele is an excellent brand, had ours for about 15 years without a single problem. We just recently updated to a dyson, simply to go bagless. We've still kept the Miele for the car. Well worth it at this price to anyone thinking about it!

we have this one, (well the 6000) its really good, but the bags do cost quite a bit, anyone know the cheapest price for the bags? as they are small and fill up fast.

Thanks

We've had one of these 1o years- ish, still going strong. I'd be tempted but the old one doesn't look like giving up any day soon. maybe a pressie for #1 son ?
