Used to get these delivered by the milkman years ago.
Great idea, easy to store and transport, not sure why they faded away.
#2
they are doing these in our local sainsburys too

Wow, we're catching up with the Latin Americans!
Next thing you know we'll have nice cheap litres of beer in re-usable bottles :)

Sorry but why is this hot?

80p for 2 pints is only 6p less than a normal plastic 2 pint bottle of milk.
£1.50 for 4 pints is only 3p less than a normal 4 pint bottle of milk.

Plus (assuming you dont already have a suitable jug) you have to spend £1.98 on a jug to take part in a "trial" with no guarantee that the "trial" will ever become permanent. And assuming you buy 2 pints a week, it would take you 33 weeks of saving 6p a week to recoup the cost of the jug. If you buy 4 pints a week, the 3p saving per week would take you 66 weeks to get your money back!

This isn't just chilled, it's FREEZING COLD!

I can't believe they call them "MIlk Bags"! Have they no shame?
#6
Man, milk in a bag has got bad idea written all over it.

The jugs are only 2 pints, so you are refilling the darn thing all the time.
I'm always in a rush in the morning so this would drive me nuts.

I don't notice them putting cornflakes in just a bag
#8
Waitrose have been doing this for some time but never seen the attraction.

I wonder how often during transport home, Milk In A Bag becomes Milk That Used To Be In A Bag but is now Milk In A Puddle In Your Boot?

That's because cornflakes are already packaged in something that is very easily re-cycled.

I'm assuming these bags are identical to the Sainsburys ones, so all bags fit the same jug?

freezing cold, bad value for money, I get 6 pints at costco for £1.45, other places sell 4 pints for £1.
Have 1 of these leak on you and it goes everywhere. Not worth taking the risk over. Recycle the normal plastic milk containers, job done.

You can get these in Sainsbury's & from Ocado too

Waitrose no longer sell them. They discontinued them due to crap sells & wastage last year.

The Sainsbury's I work in, milk bags sell really well

They have been selling milk in bags for decades in Canada - you usually get 3 x 1 litre bags in a pack. They are easy to transport, easy to store, create less waste, etc, etc
Try to open your mind at bit!
