Not PWYW when there is a minimum.
#2
Some good games.
#3
I dislike this group already, it's only 20% to charity? Really? Humble Bundle or get out. Sorry mate.

The minimum is there because of all the greedy tossers that abused the system
3 Likes #5
I agree with a minimum to be honest, too many people will just pay 1p otherwise.
#6
can anyone actually get on the site?

Why? Surely it's not wrong to pay the developers?! These games don't get created for free, you know.

Humble Bundle can operate slightly differently because it's usually comprised of already very successful games. This means they make a lot of sales, and so make a fair amount for the developers whatever happens.

Does anyone know if the games are any good or not?
Do you need a powerful GFX card for these? (sorry for being lazy but Im sure others would like to know too)
:)

This deal is insanely good.
It also includes Xotic DLCs and the adventure game Nikopol!
#10
Im just glad they finally got the servers back up.This was suppose to be out tuesday. But high traffic and multiple keys being sent brought the site to a stand still.
Its worth doing just for the sideways new york game.

I managed to get mine just before the servers went down completely.

Sideways is a pretty cool little game.

Beep seems a bit too juvinile for me, the gameplay is very basic.

Xotic dlc isn't available on steam yet (the download link - links to a file that states:
"You can find key for DLCs in your email box or in your Groupees Dowload page.")

The ball - ive wanted this one for a while, not got around to playing it yet though.

Wasteland angel - another ive wanted for a while, but not got around to playing yet.

Nikopol - Seems to be a rather average game, but hey, its a bonus.

Bought, but not played any yet. Instead I was clearing fish poo out of a pond filter :(
#13
website not working :(

Back up again

Yes. In fact I would say this is the best selection of games to have been in any Indie Bundle ever. The site is lousy though, you have to keep refreshing it to have a chance of getting it! It does run for two weeks though so you could just try at a later date I guess.

What what you call it when it's not a fixed price?

Yeah but when I go to that page, it shows one steam key for Xotic, but the rest dont have a key. ANd when I click the "PC" link, it downloads a readme file which says: Thanks for being a part of Groupees community!

You can find key for Sideway New York in your email box or in your Groupees Dowload page.

Same for everyone else?

Got mine yesterday and got all keys, just went onto the site and they are all there in my downloads section still. How did you sign in? I went for email/pass as I hate the way facebook integrates with stuff then pimps its own crap on your news feed.

It's a great selection but not the best one ever. The 4th humble indie bundle got you Jamestown, Super Meat Boy, Shank, Cave Story+ and about 8 other good games.

I guess (as you'd expect) personal preference features a lot. I only liked Gratuitous Space Battles from that bundle. And the DLC for that game ended up costing me more than the Bundle lol.

In all honesty there have been better Humble Bundles but they've been so good I've already owned the games. IMO, this is the best Bundle from which I've not already owned the games. And better than any Bundle not called Humble outright.

The Ball, I would have paid £15 for outright upon its release if I'd known it was this good.
Sideway New York is great but not my preferred genre so I didn't buy it.
Beep is good but a little basic - I think it has potential further into the game.
Wasteland is the only one I've played so far thats not my cup of tea

I've yet to try Xotic and Nikopol

I dislike this group already, it's only 20% to charity? Really? Humble Bundle or get out. Sorry mate.

When I buy from humble bundle, for the purpose of who I intend to pay, I usually choose about 95% to developers, 5% humble tip and zero to charity.

If you want to pay more to charity, then pay more to the charity. I have. No one is stopping you.

I agree, I do the same. If developers do not get paid a reasonable amount why will they continue to develop games. I also do not like the charities not being UK orientated in most if not all bundles. If you want to give to charity donate directly to them.
#28
My figureing is that they've run out of Steam keys for most of the games.

I hope they get more, thats what I paid for.
#29
Looks good heat added
#30
Will wait and see what the Steam key situation is.
#31
guess i'll wait till the website calms down but i quite fancy it for the ball alone
#32
Same situation here - have just purchased but only received an Xotic key. As you say @MBeeching, I expect that they have run out of Steam keys. However, the site is struggling to load again now - so I guess they're receiving more traffic than they expected (strange, considering they've set the targets high for the bonuses - they obviously want lots of traffic!).

I'm assuming they get the keys in batches. They probably only receive X in a go, as it would be bad form of Valve / Steam to simply say "we'll assume you're going to make 1 million sales, so here are all of the codes upfront!". At least, that's what I'm hoping anyway - I mainly bought this pack for 'The Ball' and possibly the Wasteland game!

Some good-looking games there. I actually prefer this model to Humble's "Pay What You Want (as long as it's over the average, or you won't get all the games)" model.

It's a shame they don't host torrents of the games, though. It would save them a fortune in bandwidth and we wouldn't have to worry about a 1.4Gb download being stopped before it's complete :-(

In either way, only £0.10p approx, is going to the actual charity in this thing. In each, minimum spend.

I would prefer the ability to do splits, like HB do. I would also like to see how much the developers actually get and how much groupees makes from this per sale. However, since paypal purchase, anything under $5 is fee'd to it's ****.

That's still 10p more than nothing (and thousands and thousands of 10ps do add up to a fair amount). You might prefer a system where you can split it up yourself, but I imagine a lot of people would then take their money away from the developers, and those developers do deserve to be paid..

Ultimately, if you want to give to charity enough but don't want to pay the developers much, you could give the minimum amount, and donate yourself to the charity of your choosing. But it just seems a bit much to say you dislike this way of getting games very cheaply because 20% to charity isn't enough.
