#2
Yeah, You can plug it into any usb port and then use it as bluetooth for the likes of speakers, mobile phone transfers etc. Lots of bluetooth gadgets out there now.
#3

Just ordered one, came to £2.07 - excellent price. Not sure how long delivery is going to be though...

Good find. Heat added.
#5
Just a heads up but Lloyds TSB charge a £1 overseas transaction fee so that increases the price by 50%. I dont know what other banks charge.

Always use a credit card and certainly no charges like that with my Tesco Mastercard or with First Direct.

.. I have one of these from Deal Extreme. Works fine on my XP laptop - just plug it in and off you go! One quirk is that the light is not blue, as one with expect with a bluetooth device, but red! :)

I wouldn't be sending my credit card details all over the world anyway, I only buy cheap junk from abroad (as the rights of the consumer are NON-enforceable, I only risk what I can afford to lose, although Dealextreme have been good so far for me!), and use Paypal every time.

Good little gadget this, been featured on this site dozens of times, but surprisingly cheap at the moment even for Dealextreme, bearing in mind the exchange rates!

Delivery is usually 1 to 2 weeks from them, bit hit & miss as you might expect, but I ahve had stuff quicker than from the likes of Play.com

Can I connect a ps3 bluetooth controller to my pc with this, or does it need separate drivers etc (And are these available?)

Had a quick google, and it can be done with this driver:

Thanks OP, HOT!!!!!

I don't think the PS3 controller is bluetooth.

I know that the PS3 remote control is bluetooth and I can used my bluetooth mouse and keyboard on my PC and PS3.

The driver that you mentioned is to use it through the USB cable but I have not manged to get it working so far :x

paypal has no exchange charges so if you have a card that does just paypal it. I would also paypal anyway as your much more protected online than any card you may use.

If you are going to run OSX on your machine, this is the dongle you will need: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13700 Works with native drivers. I can use bluetooth headphones, mouse and keyboard all at the same time with no problems. It also has a very bright red led flashing constantly.

Bear in mind that there are various bluetooth chips about. Some work better with XP, others with Vista, OSX or Linux.

Delivery always works out to be about 2 weeks for me, but at these prices plus the distance sent, it would churlish to complain.

I brought these just before Xmas. Vista does not like it, XP its great a really useful little dongle.
Works fine on wifes Dell with Vista but asks twice on every switch on for the software, although its working perfectly. Cannot get it to work on Vista Dell lappie.

Oh, and mine flashes green!
#33
In case anyone else is interested, this apparently works with Ubuntu 8.10 (and 8.04), according to their product forum. See http://www.dealextreme.com/forums/Default.dx/sku.11866~threadid.82740

I found it works perfectly if the supplied driver is not used and you just plug and play;-)

Do you have to install that awful bluesoleil software with this dongle?

I would suggest that even if it isn't included, that's exactly what you use! v6 is very sophisticated as well as easy to use.

For one it will enable full use of features such as A2DP and is better than the Widdcomm stack, to the point of now not even needing to install extra software to access pictures and SIM card details on mobile phones. The Vista stack basic functionality is much as any Operating System's basic drivers provide - it sort of works a bit, but doesn't allow you to use everything possible (rather like having one hand tied behind your back!.

Anyway, enough of opinions outdated or up to date - it is easy enough to try all three - they install and uninstall easy enough.
