Bought this from Maplins instore today, not sure if it's any good as I've yet to try it out. I've been on the lookout for an air purifier for a while, and this is seems like a bargain! Honest reviews for this purifier appreciated!

The specs:
· Helps reduce household odours and keeps pet smells away
· Ideal for respiratory disease, asthma, hay fever, cardiovascular disease sufferers, the elderly, children and smokers
· Helps remove airborne particles such as dust mites, allergens, pet dander and pollen
· Compact design and high-efficiency filter
· HEPA filter

This compact mini tower air purifier can also help to reduce household odours such as cigarette smoke or cooking and keeps pet smells away by producing trace amounts of ozone which assist to kill germs and give rooms a fresh smell. Regular exposure to purified air ensures plenty of ions enter your blood stream for that ''feel good'' feeling you get when you spend time in nature. By significantly reducing your exposure to air pollution, you will feel more energized, alert and positive.

It is important to change the HEPA filter at recommended intervals.

Damn good price. I have two already and really helps with people suffering from hay fever. Both cost me about £75 each.

How would exposure to charged particles (ions) in your bloodstream help to give you a feel-good factor?! Methinks they're using a bit of artistic license with some of the more nonsensical science waffle, however, it probably does help reduce the amount of reactive (or maybe airborne) allergenic particles in an enclosed space, so that potential reactions are lessened.

However; how could it: reduce household odours and keeps pet smells away??

An enigma!

I have one of these, and it does a good job of cleaning the air, especially pet dust etc. Downside is it is a tad noisy, but we have it in our living room and it doesn't bother us.

P.S, paid £70 for this so excellent price! Infact the filters alone cost about £10

These are great I am told - as they almost stop you needing to dust EVER.

I think this is a good find and its at a great price. I have a fluffy carpet in my bedroom and the fluff gets up my nose sometimes. This would probably help reduce the fluff and dust.

Voted hot cos its a good deal :-) xx

You know it's a Bionaire because you got them or just because they look identical?

where do you get the filters from and how many times per year do they need changing? I have a bionair one that is a hoverable filter but it was £150 could do with another one.

I have a room with two servers running in it.

The room is never really used other than as a store - but is almost dust free too.

You can buy slim filters for computer fans - that use foam rubber to filter the air (like motorcycle air filters). They are about half an inch thick and can fit outside the casing too if you make a gasket of double sided sticky foam tape - used for holding on car number plates.

Cleaning them once a year - it looks like earth is coming out of them.

I guess they must increase the load on the fan - although I have been using Papst liquid baring fans for years without failure.

Run it on a timer so it runs when you wont be in the room.

What is the Wattage rating?

Even though this offer has been taken off the Maplin Website and the Maplin stock computers ring your local large stores because they do still have them on the floor. Ive just bagged one after spending 45 mins waiting for them to pick up but don't ask them to look on their computer because they won't be there.

If your Maplin is out of stock, my Aldi currently has a similar deal - £25 for a HEPA air filter/ioniser, so may be worth checking there

Does anyone know of the Maplin Order Code for this Bionaire Mini Tower Air Purifier? Been to my local Maplin & they are not aware of the deal online & their own stock inventory system.

I know this is now marked as expired, but I was hoping to still track one down.

Does anyone know of any London stores that might still have one of these? So far I have been to one store and called 3 others with no luck.

Any tips appreciated ;)
#29
For anyone still looking for one of these, Basingstoke store currently has 2 left in stock, they are marked as clearance at £29.98 but scan at £19.98 so paid £19.98 for it!!

Hey guys, great to hear the product is good!

Anyway, I don't think this deal is expired. Last time I checked on the website, there was only a couple more instock so it was probably taken off because they ran out of stock. However, I got this purifier instore before I saw it online so check your local stores if you didn't manage to get one!
#31
Why is this deal expired...?

I just picked one up instore at Nottingham Maplins, still £19.99.

Got it running now, the dog seems to like it, is sleeping in front of it, lol.

Heat + Rep left.

Any info on where to get the replacement HEPA Filter from...?

The other filter can be washed, but they say you need to replace the HEPA one every 6 months.

I could not find it online either, however when I went to the shop it was right in front of me at the entrance when you walk in, bought it straight away.

I would go instore and ask a member of staff if you can't find it,might just be low on stack, a real steal at this price.

thx...I will give it a go :)
