title says all.bargain!

These are very small and unobtrusive, Ideal for laptops as unlike most other bluetooth dongles can be left plugged in a laptop all the time. They work well and have a good range.

i got one of these a fortnight ago for my ubuntu laptop.

works fine. i can't send data directly from my phone to laptop as it fails, but i think this may be a security measure as i can easily send from laptop to phones(s) and can also use laptop to browse another bluetooth device, i.e. phone - so therefore can get data from phone but have to browse directly from laptop.

no big deal to do this IMO.

the adaptor usb part sticks out a few mm from socket but still unobtrusive and an absolute bargain for a few quid.

hot.

#11
lol yeah i thought it was a weird question too
#12
Buy 3 or more and add the bulk rate code BULKRATE, it works out a bit cheaper if you're buying a few of them.
#13
WELL I DIDNT KNOW AS THEY SAID LAPTOPS I DONT HAVE A LAPTOP
so i dont know if the fitting is the same thats why i
asked why would you buy something if it had no use
some peeps do work u know and have things to do other than beena gadget geek so grow up
#14
A laptop IS a computer. But presumably by "computer" you meant "Desktop Computer" rather than "Laptop Computer". It wasn't clear from your question, but the answer you got was correct.

If your technical knowledge is that bad then I would suggest that you stay clear of this product, whilst it doesn't take a 'gadget geek' to operate it, it does require that you know your a**e from your elbow.

:giggle: well said above!

Wasn't this voted stone cold the last time it was posted? Great little item, as it was then; just don't know what's changed!

Some of these dongles work better than others, particularly if you are not running Windows/Blue Soleil software. I bought two from DE, this white one and this Vista supported one. I tried both on a hackint0sh I have been putting together - the Vista dongle was recognised and I could browse for devices, albeit slowly. However, I could not pair with anything. Nor could I switch bluetooth on or off - it was permanently on. The white dongle worked immediately with full functionality. It pairs with everything and I use it to stream music to the Sony bluetooth headphones I got from another thread here.

I ordered this very dongle a few months ago and it works perfectly, didnt even need to install any drivers with Vista, have it plugged in all the time and it seems to have not had any affect on battery life.

Yeah it was, it was priced slightly higher and people were being dumb and saying it was pointless and you could get a normal (stick sized one) cheaper. I think the problem was that people failed to see why having it this small is a benefit (for a start you can keep it plugged into a notebook all the time, even when in a case).
#29
Does this support A2DP? i.e. stereo bluetooth
#30
Ordered One thank OP ... heat added
#31

If you are using MS Vista, you would need to right click the Bluetooth icon in the tray at the bottom right-hand of your screen then click on 'receive a file' before sending your data from your phone to your laptop. You should then be able to transfer data.
Hope this helps.;-)

Just noticed you say you are using Ubuntu - sorry but same might apply???
