WARNING

I suspect that the CPU is non X86.

This would mean that you will be unable to download anything for the lappy except specially compiled modules from the manufacturers site. One bonus of this would be the probable lack of any current virus.

Correct me if wrong.

same as the elonex 0net that you got to upgrade free from the reserved elonex one.

see here: http://www.elonexone.co.uk/onet.html

Slightly cheaper at scan.
http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=859195

a quick google search for the processor, a RISC XBurst 32bit, brings up a number of interesting comments, and other sites selling the same machine, rebadged.

These people (never heard of them before) sell it for £150 approx.

Apparently, it costs 100 pounds, if you buy 100 :-))

In my opinion, it costs more than it delivers, with the short battery life, tiny amount of RAM.
Good for email checking, but not much more.

They start at £220 yes. But for £50 more you are getting a far more advanced system with higher specs, better processor and a better brand imo

Cold

Seems to be the 2GB verson of the Bestlink Alpha 400.
Available at £100 or more.

A usable EEE PC can be had for less than the above price!!! No comparison really.
Buy this at your peril.

Aha, cheers for clearing that up ,mate ;-)

It said 'free upgrade' but many suspect it is actually a downgrade.

It does look exactly the same as the elonex onet. I actually just cancelled my order for the onet+ yesterday after getting another email about delays.

The price for he elonex one was good but I think at the price for this one you are probably better of spending a bit extra to get a better machine.
