This complete collection includes every episode of the hugely popular political satire Yes Minister series 1 – 3 (which first aired in 1980 on BBC 2) along with each episode in the subsequent two series of Yes Prime Minister (which aired from 1986).
Meet the bewildered Rt Hon James Hacker, his scheming and equivocating Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby and of course, Bernard, the piggy-in-the middle, on their fraught journey through the corridors of power. Easily the sharpest political comedy every written, with clandestine help from real civil servants, and satire that bites so close to home it sometimes seems more like a documentary. This does the impossible: it makes politics not just fun but hilariously funny.

Brilliant series. Still relevant today.
Love this series. Thanks for posting.
Wainwright?... Ah, Dear Lady!

Its hard to quantify the amount of experience the writers had, but this is up there with the Pyramids in terms, of trying to understand how they came to imagine scenarios, the dialogue, the characters, the castings, the interactions, and above all the timing. If you have grandeurs of being an up and coming political comedy writer, watch this, then weep. I'd be very surprised if anything similar, would ever be as good.

brilliant series and I vote hot just for posting but its about the standard price and has been for about 3 years.
For those who haven't seen it, imagine "The Thick Of It" but with wit and intelligence instead of swearing.

Wonderful show this...although The Thick of it has its place.

This is better crafted though, displaying class in spades and top drawer acting. I love watching truly great actors doing comedy.
