- Yes the front panel does come off.
- No, its not likely to be as good as a pioneer/alpine/sony model at 3x the price.
- Yes its a very good price for a car stereo with MP3 support.

To compare, I was just looking at halfords.com and the cheapest CD player with MP3 support there is £69.99 for a refurb Ripspeed. Admittedly you do also get USB & SD support for the extra £40, but I personally wouldnt use these. They also have a similar Sony one with Mp3 support for £79.99.

Hot. Looks neat and tidy, not OTT like most headunits.

I've got a CD/MP3 player that I bought from either ebuyer or SVP 2-3 years ago with a USB and SD card slot too, even then it was only around £50-£60 and still working perfectly.. in fact it even survived the transition to a new car around a year ago... I can't remember the name of the unit at the moment, will have a look tomorrow and let you guys know if you like? The sound from it is perfect, the only thing I don't like is trying to select a different album.. it's not complicated, just a bit fiddly if you're driving is all.

seems like an ace deal to me, no need for a multi changer if you have it all on one cd.

The goverment have just announced that ALL radio will be digital by 2015. Just something to consider when buy any new radio. I know it seems a long way off but if they do a digital roll out, like the tv roll out, then some areas could be completely digital a lot sooner than 2015.

It's a bloody useful feature though, I have an 8Gb USB stick poking out the front of my stereo :-D

Not something to be concerned about when buying an item like this. The only alternatives would be to either invest in an expensive digital one now, or go without.

Give it 6 yrs and there'll be a similar deal around for digital ones. Its no doubt cheaper to buy basic now and then buy digital when in full-swing, than to invest in more expensive technology now.

We're also assuming that a digital unit purchased today would still work in 6yrs.

Had a MOS stereo a couple of years back ................Was so pleased when Mr Burglar broke into my car and STOLE IT!!!
Thank God..

Might be right for some people though....

On another note....It looks CRAP... sorry for being negative. The build quaility and the colour schemes were really nasty looking...

Has this got line in? can't see if it has so will assume it hasn't, but if it has then I will buy right away as line in would be perfect for my iPod.
