got my first day free copy at w.h.smith this morning.

scanty content IMHO.

don't think it's worth 25p let alone 50p - although i might try it again tomorrow to see if it improves.

Hopefully this is not going to be yet another Tory-pushing load of cr&p like the Mail, Express, Sun, Telegraph etc..
Grieves me that the political shape of this country is effectively dictated by a small group of powerful press owners able to push out Tory propaganda to such an extent that idiots like Cameron and Osborne get elected to wreck the entire infrastructure of the country.

But the Labour party always leave the country deeper in debt and the Torys have to try and sort it out while making sure they line their pockets.Blair and his wife seems to have done rather well for himself.

Morrisons to cut petrol by 7p a litre from Monday to £1 - £40.00 min spend instore

Cold - poor deal with an even poorer title. Made even worse by the fact petrol prices are coming down closer to £1 over the next 7 to 14 days - so this deal is going to be less and less of a deal.
"Supermarket giant Morrisons is cutting the cost of petrol and diesel by 7p a litre in a new price war at the pumps."
Err, no it's not. Completely misleading. They are giving a voucher to customers who spend £40 in their store. They are not cutting basic pump prices for all customers. Just because it's contradicted in the next sentence doesn't make it OK to say.

If the price comes down to £1 p litre at other outlets I'm sure that Morrison's would bring theirs down to none voucher users to £1 p litre, so voucher users would get it for 93p p litre so it's still a deal unless they stop the voucher deal.

They are not 'cutting' the price they are giving you 7p off if you spend £40, - not applicable to everyone! I don't understand why OP finds it difficult to understand that
Who's saying I find it "difficult to understand" - the title couldn't be any clearer. Prices cut by 7p a litre for a £40 minumum spend in-store.
It's even in the initial description ..
"Customers who spend at least £40 at the supermarket checkout will pay £1 a litre or less when they fill up at the chain’s 336 forecourts."
So what part am I struggling with exactly ?
Actually, the title could be clearer - '7p off the price of fuel with a £40 spend instore'
The header and the blurb make it perfectly clear to me , instead of speed reading read the introduction properly and then maybe you will understand it better.
and I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned already but just in case you are having trouble reading.
If there was a BOGOF on a 2 litre Coke bottle. You wouldn't word it "FREE 2 litre COKE - when you purchase a 2 litre bottle of Coke"
But hey, whatever gets you more heat right? Hope the extra heat made a massive difference to OPs life, after all it was quite cold today(!)
I can't understand why people who are so wrong continually make up a senseless argument to make them seem as if they were so right in the beginning. Plus you don't need to say it's FREE if you say BOGOF or don't you know what BOGOF means?
You wouldn't understand would you? probably the same reason you don't understand how '7p off the price of fuel with a £40 spend instore' is clearer, probably the same reason your stupid enough to ask me if I understand what BOGOF means after I just quoted it. Just leave it, there's obviously more than 1 thing you do not understand.
You've just proved my point again.

Great deal. Brings Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar down to £19 (seems to be £25 everywhere)

Lots of restrictions, cant be used on Video games, Games consoles, Microscooters, Samsung, Kurio, Linx and Meep tablets, Lego DImensions, SKyland/Disney Infinity and amiibo figures, Karaoke machines, Pop! Vinyl figures and electronics.

It reads in the write up not to be used on Lego dimensions! :-(
Anyone know if you can use this voucher on things that have already been reduced?
You can, I bought "Dont Take Busters Bones" this morning. Reduced from £22 to £18 and then another £6 off with the voucher (with some wrapping paper added to take me over the £20).

I'm in the same boat and will cancel. Like I said in a previous post. Bit of a scam that Homebase reduced the price of the BBQ at the same time Quidco were running this offer. Who knows how many people will be declined cash back, effectively buying a BBQ they were led to believe they would get for free!
Cashback still 23p so phoned and cancelled order! Think it as the order didn't amount to £15.99 but was £15.94.
Still at 23p here :(
Will give it time to update otherwise will be cancelling!
My cashback has updated to the full amount!

£15.98 yay! :3

the only good thing coming out of this is a referendum.

The privatisation has already started, only need to look to Surrey healthcare who have handed a huge contract to Virgin to run services, or Lincolnshire Police who have been forced to farm out services to G4S due to cuts. We are sleepwalking into this. Instead of money going directly to services, a share will be going to G4S and Virgin shareholders. Wake up people, Cameron does not have your best interests at heart.

Not even any money off vouchers this month then?? Shame, I'm spending my money in Tesco at the moment as they keep sending me £2 or £3 off £20 spend vouchers.
Looks like a switch to Lidl,(as long as they keep doing the money saving vouchers)
Result = Aldi lose Lidl win! = Customer wins!!
oh, I've been shopping there for donkeys years as well but the £5 voucher made me stock up on things. Fact is, other retailers have lowered prices and I now buy from a variety of different stores. When I had the £5 voucher, it all went to Aldi.
Their ploy could be working (at least on me anyway). I have been shopping there once a month with the vouchers and was waiting for this months voucher again to go and stock up on the products I have converted over to getting from Aldi. As I still needed to stock up on them I went last night and did my shop spending £73 so they are definitely £5 better off than they would have been. Over time this probably will impact how much I shop there as I'll try lidl if I get a voucher and neither Aldi or lidl are particularly close to me so Sainsburys will probably benefit.
Well I was shopping at Aldi way before these vouchers and I'll continue to shop there now they've stopped. I enjoy their products, prices, ease of getting around the store and simplicity of shopping there. I am still saving loads shopping there, voucher or no voucher. Maybe this will mean less queuing for me : )

I know a lot of people who have lost loads on slimming world.

Fortunately I have a nutrition degree so I know what foods to eat and how to lose weight safely but it's a great idea for those who don't. I would just avoid those processed mug shot noodle type things. I exercise 5 times per week and find that is the easiest way to feel healthy and shed the weight.

One thing I would say is that the people who lead the groups don't necessarily have qualifications so if you have some serious weight to shift it might be worth consulting your gp or a dietician first :)

I have lost nearly five stone with slimming world. Gone from size 22 to 12/14 best thing I ever did. It's changed my life and I still eat loads just now it's healthier. I made some lovely friends at the class and will continue to go even when I hit my target weight as the support is really good.

Well done, that's some determination.....they will be wanting you featured in the Slimming World magazine :)

I won the groups miss slinky and only lost out on the greatest loser as someone in class had lost 7 stone at that point. Maybe you never know Once I hit target which hopefully will be by march but slimming world is a lifestyle change so I will be doing it for life. I still have cake, chocolate and wine but I jump back on plan following day. I know the plan now so could follow it at home only but I love the class and I have made lovely friends there so it's like a meet up with friends every week.

Just be careful not to lose too much, some of us guys prefer women with curves than size zeros ;)
davester2k
Eat less. Do more.

It's that easy. No need to pay over the odds for quack schemes like this, which have been widely discredited.

Why would you even consider joining something which has a vested interest in keeping you going?

Once you hit target it's free membership for life. As long as you stay within 3 pounds of either side of your target. So you won't be paying forever. However slimming world is a business and they are there to make a profit but I don't care as what it's given me is priceless in terms of my health and happiness it was worth every penny. Sometimes it's good to find out the facts before posting (_;)

Just got daily mirror no voucher in today
Morrisons also bring the majority of their "fresh baked bread" in part baked then held in the freezers till it needs baked. My fear is I can see Aldi gradually moving more to the mainstream to keep all their new customers happy rather than sticking to their principles and make the new customers accept the discount way.
I used to work in Tesco and every thing came frozen, basically you put everything in the oven together for 20 minutes, the only thing you needed to do was bag the bread and sugar the donuts.

Managed to spend £50 with no real effort, half the cost was nappies and the rest we struggled to get in the trolley. Going to shop there again next week, probably Wednesday and get some of the gammon joints and also fancied trying the Speyside Sherry Cask Whiskey.

A fat free tub of plain yoghurt is 55p in ALDI, and a quid in every other supermarket, there is decent money to be saved
You wish, this is just a halv baked frozen bread, rolls full of chemicals...frozen because they can put less flour inside. 800 gram bread is made from cup of flour.. what is the rest? they use more ice that flour (ice is helping to absorbs chemicals). Im not talking about hovis/kingsmill and similar but fresh made, bloomers and tigers..again one company (arizta) deliveres to all supermarkets all frozen bread/rolls, lots fresh breads, cakes and belive me is no difference in asda/tesco/aldi/sainsbury belgian burns or tiger bread (girrafe bread in sainsbury). Arizta is making a Mc burns in dunstable with lines for 4 millions burns per hr.

As a lorry driver can say that fresh products are delivered from 22:30 till 9 am (restricted shops in housing estates but mostly till 7am) in some shop they still putting on shelf when shop is open in morning, the main load (long life) is on day time + plus overspill fresh. The warehause is epty till 5am and suppliers arrived around 5-6 till 14. Im doing 3-6 deliveres per night and nothing is staying on the trailer.. we are loading, unloading, wraping, not like tesco/asda and rest, where driver is waiting to be tiped, loaded. this same as a store personnel we are working much harder that in similar places (but earned more money) but you can be sure that fresh product was delivered this same day. When the shop close (or late evening) the system is checking how many has been sold and automatically make the order. The whole distribution process need 50% or less people that in Tesco/Asda etc, and we dont have that many big fish because aldi is a family company. Its why prices are low in aldi

About Carsberg 100% right ;)

Got mine, will combine it with the £5 off fruit and veg in Morrisons and split my shop. £60 worth of shopping for £45 :)
Same here, I don't buy fruit and veg from Aldi since it all rotted in the space of a couple of days. Although the oranges are normally ok.
I've noticed this... I'll buy the veg from there if I'm using it on the day (say for a stir fry or stew) as it's good value, but it just doesnt last....
I find a lot of the food from Aldi hit and miss. We had a couple of weeks of all of our weekly shop from Aldi a few months back and weren't that impressed, so now we just get certain products from there. Fruit, veg and meat (also big pizzas) from Morrisons and the rest from Asda or Tesco.
Dreamys are the best thing in Aldi. :)
Im Aldi delivery driver. Your warehouse is very small with compare with Tesco or Asda and all fresh products are in shops within 12 hrs. Because of the turnover most suppliers are this same that for a tesco/asda. Hovis is making a Village bakery/own bread, Ariza is making This same bread for Tesco, Sainsbury and ALdi (tescos Tiger, sainsbury Girrafe and Tiger for a ALDI) and this same belgian burns for all supermarkets. Arla is making Milk (aldi brand and own), Carlsberg is suppling a lager (this same for all supermarkets).
regards Kookai

My local Asda, Morrisons and Tesco bake their own bread, you can see it from the shop floor.
They maybe be putting fresh produce out quickly but what is happening in the meantime, does it sit on a lorry for days on end or is it not being kept properly during transportation or even are they buying up cheap the stuff the other supermarkets don't want?

As for Carlsberg supplying the lager, that's really nothing to be proud of. Export is just about drinkable on a hot summers day and the standard stuff is just awful.

Yeah, if someone stood outside Aldi (or any supermarket for that matter!) and said "had over 55 pence for The Mirror paper and I'll MAKE SURE THAT you get £10 off your groceries if you spend £50" - I'd be thinking that's 'not reason enough' oO. Errm, surely you're aware of what this site is ALL about?! :|
