Can't reserve in my locals, getting error "Sorry, we are unable to confirm the reservation for some of your items. If you requested an email copy of your reservation then please check your email before trying again - as the email version will show if the reservation has been confirmed." (tried IE, FF and Chrome). Anyone else getting this?

Excellent. Get them into the habit of tarting themselves up whilst young.

I can only speak for my niece, seeing her grow up (she's 15 now) but it's more peer pressure these days.

When I was at secondary school there was zero tolerance about any makeup/hair being done, we all had to look the same and were ordered to scrub any makeup off (even mascara) if we got caught out.

Nowadays I see young girls going to school with HD brows, hair extensions, nail tips, full face of makeup on....maybe I'm a prude but I think there's a time and place for going out ready for a night at a club. Niece has been getting up early to do the whole "treatment" before school for at least the last 2-3 years!

I've always said that my son was a worse version of Kevin after he turned into a teenager. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on him turning back into a polite, reasonable human that happens on Kevin and Perry!

Excellent. Get them into the habit of tarting themselves up whilst young.

I'm 50 now. When I was ten, I had a make up bag with my mum's cast offs in it. I think most girls had bits and pieces to play with at that age - I would never have worn it outside though of course. And one doesn't need to be "tarted" up.

At my secondary school there were not rules about make up though there were strict uniform rules. Some girls wore a face full of make up but they probably accounted for 1% of the pupils. Most of the 16 + girls wore a bit of mascara if anything at all.

summary - a make up set is not going to make a girl a tart, or even look like one.

Yeah - I have a feeling it's going to be a long bumpy road...

I used to read things like this with a smug smile on my face, my first 3 didn't have a single teenage "issue", they were literally dream teens, then Karma got back at me by making our 4th teen an absolute nightmare, thanks for lulling me into a false sense of security and then slapping me in the face Karma you b****!(_;)

haha! Imagine if you'd stopped at three, you'd still be smug, thinking everyone else was doing it wrong. Like my sister with "perfect baby" who slept from 6.30pm every evening til 7.30 the following day and had to be woken to be fed! She once said to me "Motherhood is so easy, just throw your baby on your back and get on with life!" oO While I was sitting knackered after yet another 2.30am wakening. Then she had my nephew... HAHAHA! I remember one day saying to her "but motherhood is easy, just throw him on your back and get on with life!!" and she said "....did I really say that...." :p yes you did!

I agree, makeup does not make the wearer "bad", be it child or adult. I remember playing with makeup from around eight years old. Girls always have that curiosity about femininity and appearance, it's just part of growing up.

I do still think schools should tighten up what sort of dress/appearance is acceptable for school. This isn't from a place of moral panic, more that school is supposed to prepare children for work and acceptable behaviour/appearance.

X) Yeah that's motherhood to a T isn't it, I really need to learn to never ever EVER brag about something amazing/wonderful/fabulous my child did or how easy it is because without a doubt it come back to haunt me, with force!!

Dammit. Oos near me now. Have to say its really good quality, the case itself is very sturdy and the amount of makeup in it is a bargain for the price. Good luck to anyone who can get one
