Mission: Impossible 1, 2 And 3 - Three disc set

Price matched - take you pick - Amazon and Play both have it for £4.99

Tom Cruise stars as secret agent Ethan Hunt in all three blockbuster instalments of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise, collected here. Based on the hit 1960s-'70s TV series, the films feature a raucous mix of spectacular chases, amazing stunts, high-tech gadgetry, and elaborate schemes. Set against a backdrop of paranoia and intrigue, Hunt and his Impossible Mission Force (IMF) traverse the globe, working to foil the plans of villains and terrorists. And as ever, it's a question of who's double-crossing whom?

For what it is the price isn't bad, I wouldn't say it's excellent though to be honest. A lot of action films, these included crop up for very cheap and can even be bought from eBay as new individually for as little as £1. As I say though, the price for this isn't bad but it's the sort of thing I find silly to buy when there's another film in the works. I'd rather not have a slightly odd shelf of DVDs if given the choice - hence why I chose to buy the Spiderman trilogy in their individual DVD packages and of course because if you buy the special edition of each movie(in general) there's more features than usually in these sorts of trilogy boxsets.

I'm not voting hot because while the price is okay, the context of why it's so cheap is understandable (with M:I4 being made). I won't vote cold though as for the product itself it's an alright price.

Comparing 2nd hand with brand new?

If somebody sells a DVD for £1 on ebay, they will probably lose money on the sale

I wasn't necessarily comparing a 2nd hand item to this. A hell of a lot of items on eBay, especially DVDs are brand new infact. It just depends if you strike lucky, of course with the value.

A lot also who sell for cheap on eBay aren't necessarily aiming to make a profit as not everyone is a business. Some just want any amount of money for old DVDs, new unwanted gifts etc. For example I just sold two DVDs, both in pristine condition for under £2 each. I was never going to watch them again, I didn't really enjoy them after seeing them (they're a few years old now) and so they were better off with someone else and I was better off with the few quid.

Like I said, £5 for this set is pretty alright. It's just understandable why it's so cheap when another one of the movies is in the works. Give it a year and the set will look out of place when a 1-4 is released. It's like buying the Lost series 1-4 boxset, knowing there's more to come, it's just a bit silly that's all.

Most people won't want to wait a few years for a sequel to be released and then for the price to takes ages to drop to one like this.
Some people just want to watch it now, and this is a great price.

Ebay is risky as hell. And if you are selling DVDs at £2 (Not sure if you mean delivered or not?) then you would be making peanuts.

I know what you mean which I said the price is essentially alright, I was just stating that personally I think there's a reason these sorts of boxsets plummet in price and it might even get cheaper in the next few months.

eBay risky as hell? Don't be silly. eBay's a great auction site and 99.9% of the time you know exactly what you're buying and the seller's are trustworthy. It's incredibly easy to buy what you want and in the condition that you want, and usually if you're patient then you'll find a great price.

As for the DVDs I sold, it was indeed peanuts, but considering I'll never watch them again, or even want them on my shelf I'd say £2-4 is much better in my pocket. The buyer pays for the P&P so it didn't come out of my pocket.

I didn't mean buying, i mean selling. It's seriously a scammers paradise.
If you don't send anything recorded then you are at a really high risk of them saying they never received it, and even if they have received it, they can still scam.
