I tried one of them cans, they were utter pants. Is getting it done at a garage any different?
Is it only for Mitsubishi vehicles or any make?

For those that enjoy an argument, the images at Donnelly Mitsi air con refresh page have alt tags stating "Air Con Recharge from just £10".
Sorry I'm confused to what you are saying, are you trying to say you can get a air con gas recharge from Mitsubishi for £10 ?
The webmaster for Donnelly Mitsi has quoted "recharge" in the image tags on that page, although the page text says "refresh", hence the possibility of an argument if anyone attempts to obtain a recharge at £10.
You could try it but I don't think you will have much chance seeing they have a * where it says about ac coolant level ,and that it is an additional cost.
Woosh.

I pass Oakley Mitsubishi (County Durham) every day on the way to work ... they've had 1.3 pre-reg Colts on sale for £6795 on and off for months. As I say, only a fool buys bottom of the range, and that goes especially for poverty-spec Fiestas.
I'm talking Fiesta Zetecs not Styles or Studios.
Strange how the cheapest pre reg 1.3 Colt on Oakleys site is almost £10k.
Sounds like you need your eyes testing.

Lots of very questionable comments on here... at the end of the day old-school late 90s / early 2000s Japanese engineering is as good as it gets. This car is the next step up from silly little tin boxes like the i10 and 107 -- it's uncompetitive against the like of the Fiesta but light-years ahead of the kind of buzzy rubbish you get at this price range.i10s and 107s annoy me every morning on the motorway when they pull out in front of everyone to overtake lorries and have absolutely no acceleration above 50mph. If I had my way the entire class would be banned lol.
Strange comment, a 107 has more BHP per ton than a 1.1 Colt with almost the same torque and top speed figures. a Colt should technically be similar unless Mitsubishi have done magic with the gears.
Only a fool buys the bottom of the range model ... and BHP/ton isn't everything anyway -- the 107 runs out of legs very quickly.Yes, the 1.1 is underpowered, but it's only the bottom-end car. Pre-reg 1.3s are available at a lot of dealers for this price, and have been for some time. 1.3 is just getting to that point where the car can be used on the motorway without annoying everyone else.
This deal is for a new 1.1 not a nearly new 1.3.
Cheapest 1.3 62 plate pre reg I've seen is £8.5k which is getting on for nearly new Fiesta money.

Good price for a new car but the Mitsubishi Colt is ancient in design. I test drove one years ago and it was ok but nothing special. However £6995 is hot for a new set of wheels. I think that you could spend a little bit more and get something 100 times better. Still hot from me.

Sounds like sour grapes to me sir charles been driving 1.3 cleartec 60reg no problems it was a demonstrator and on motorways goes nicely not notice any difference to 1.8 Nissan Tino I used to drive

Not sour grapes, we ended up dumping the franchise in favour of a better one. Ask anyone in the motor trade...the cars are frowned upon. Fact

Can anyone explain to me why buying a car from new is a good deal? I would've thought depreciation would eclipse any positives no?

The deal is judged from what is on offer. In this case it is a new car. A new car has a longer warranty remaining.
A used PS3 will cost less than a new on. It is the same for most products (not vintage cars, wines etc).

10 years ago many UK spec new imported car cost cost less than a one year old car.

Remember, some people do not like used goods i.e second hand goods. They can also afford new goods and like the prestige.
People spend money on what they like.

Fair point, I guess it's a good deal for a new car as opposed to a car full stop.

I don't consider myself a new car buyer because of the perceived initial depreciation. However, my last 3 car purchases have been for new cars have been new because of the stonking deals on them.

Plus, if you are buying 'nearly new' to avoid the initial depreciation, don't forget that all cars depreciate, not just new ones. Therefore, buying new (if you can afford it), doesn't increase the overall cost of ownership as much as the headline numbers suggest. And like other reviewers have said, you get the assurance of the full warranty and knowledge of the car's full history.

I got 2005 mitsubishi colt 3dr with the 3 cylinder 1.1 engine. It's nippy but gets out of breath above 50. Only think i will say is with cheap tires it understeers horribly if your a bit enthusiastic, even on a small roundabout. With decent tires its a fun little car.

Are you American or just can't spell - or write a proper sentence?
I don't recall making a comparison, rather an illustration that "low" power isn't necessarily underpowered. Maybe you should start reading full-stop. I hear it helps to comprehend things

No, I was merely illustrating that power to weight is what matters, not power alone.

Here's another wiki article for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedant

So in your nonsensical way two completely different cars weighing the same (kerb weight) but hugely different power outputs will do what exactly?

Maybe you should stop reading Wiki for a while, I hear it's mostly written by school kids.

Cant get a lot for your money these days.
At least this car is direct from UK dealers, no need to deal with third party people or pass movey over to third party and not grey import.
Best Bargin for Diesel hatchback with all the gadgets Bluetooth, Rear Cam, Leather seats, Aircon.. only if i had the money.
Piece of mind, nice and simple car, I think Mitsubishi are quite reliable, its not a Evo but your not paying the Evo price. but then again i drive a Volvo hehe..

I was agreeing with everything you said, but as I got to the last line, I have to say as the past owner of Volvos, including one from new which were OK if a little underwhelming, I am a LOT happier with my Mitsubishi!
I didn't get a hat included when I bought a Volvo, so I never wore one while driving them, but I am certainly pleased to not have everyone trying to pull out in front of me now, unless I hook a caravan up! :-)

Below average car, not great fuel economy for a diesel, well spec'd for the price i guess.

Not for me.

And now you can use all three lanes of the motorway instead of sitting in the middle one all the way!

I always did, (well two of them - who in any modern car spends much time on the inside lane doing 45 with lumbering lorries?), but of course no-one expects you to do that when you drive a Volvo, so they do all sorts of ridiculous acrobatics to get out in front of you... well shot of them for that reason alone! The cars are OK, but unless you particularly WANT to be treated like a Volvo driver, then I don't recommend them! Oddly enough my current Lancer is far less powerful then my last Volvo, but no-one knows that!
