correct - This is the cheapest network by far
#3
How can you get the quidco and upgrade to this tariff cant seem to do it online?
#4
How do you justify it as being the cheapest, when the 700 is for minutes or texts, whereas other networks you get minutes and texts.
#5
plus refer a friend?

sounds not too bad...we have three contract phones on Three but daughter is having reception problems in certain parts of Newcastle upon Tyne

Dont think you can upgrade to this tariff...its for new customers only....plus not all handsets you can choose are free...some may cost between £2 and £5 p/month on top of that....

only option is phone 333 and ask can you upgrade to that tariff if you're near the end of your contract....if you don't get what you want ask for your pac code and tell them you're leaving.....not a good idea with months to run on your contract...
#7
Can some one explain what is £3 promotion which is attached to many phones? Is this what is making it £18 contract?
#8
No matter what deal '3' offered me now i wouldnt touch them with a bargepole. Worst customer service ever.

you have to pay at least £5 monthly for a phone during your 18 month contract

and unlimited 3 to 3 calls so if your whole family was on three you would find it difficult to go over

I am on 3 mix and match 1100, it is great. On my N95 I switch to GSM signal which is roamed on orange I think and reception is perfect. Throughout the years I have been all networks on contract and 3 is the best by far.

If anyone wants Refer a Friend let me know(If this is against the rules please delete this bit).

Yes, and also how do you then add a "refer a friend" for the extra £30 credit on top?

(I've already got a "3" phone, and want a second one for my dad.)

Per the above post, if anyone needs a friend referral, just message me for my ref number  (As above, if this is not allowed, pls delete this bit.)

Just found that:

1/ You get £45 for the friend referral (not £30)

2/ You can go via Quidco easily to get this deal

Still haven't worked out where to enter the firend referral number online though, but haven't gone right through the sale process, so perhaps a later screen has it.

Anyone stuck on how to do RAF, I will guide you through it.
1) Click on 3 store tab
2) Then click on recommend a mate tab
3) Click already been recommended
4) Then click shop online now
5) Shop as normal
6) When you are filling out form there should be a extra column to put RAF number in.
#17
Thanks, that's excellent. Makes it a great deal then. £18 for 700 mins/texts, free phone, Quidco & £45 credit.

I'm definitly ordering one for my dad now :)

Anyone know how to use a PAC code with an online order? i.e. bring your old number over to "3"?

Does your old phone just stop working automatically when your new "3" contract starts? I've never used a PAC code before.
#18
From what I know, 3 only let you do PAC's via phone. So no quidco. Maybe RAF but not sure.

That scuppers it for me then as far as Quidco goes :?
#20
You can use your PAC and still get quidco.

Wait for the phone to arrive then ring 333 from your new handset and give them the pac code - quidco still tracks as porting your number has nothing to do with the original purchase.

I have done this on a number of occasions.
#21
Yeah you can transfer your number after your phone arrives so dont worry.
#22
I thought the refer a friend was 30. or 45 if a mobile and broadband contract was taken out
#23
From their site

Recommend a friend and as a thank you we'll credit each of you with up to £45 on your bill
We're always thinking up ways of saying thank you for being with 3. In fact, our appreciation knows (almost) no bounds. Which is why we're giving you the opportunity to benefit from sharing your network with a friend. Or three.

You can't put a price on friendship
(Actually you can. £45)
Love your network? Love your trusted, old friends? Why not bring them together?

Here's why it could be good for you:
Recommend a friend to 3 and, as a thank you from us, you'll both get some credit on your account. If your friend goes for a phone you both get £30 credit. If they go for Mobile Broadband, you both get £15. And if they choose both, that's £45 each. Nice.

So, introduce two friends and you get £90. And three comes to £135. Get the idea?

Oh, ok thanks  I thought it was a straight £45. Still £30 is not to be sniffed at either

And so that is 300+ 400 for instance
No better than can be got on Orange

In fact Orange are offering 400m + unlimited texts on 24m contract with numerous free phones for £20.
Orange bonus = largely UK call centre!
Don't get me wrong, I was with three for 3 years. Great network. I quit when they insisted I had an upgrade with one of their nasty free phones rather than offer me a discount on the tariff to keep my current satisfactory phone.
Call centres are dreadful too. Polite but if the answer isn't on their computer led advice, they were about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.
In any case, either the deal is hard to find, or it has expired before end Nov and so in summary, gets a cold from me.

Ok let me get this right - what you are saying that the Orange £20 per month contract (£5 more expensive making £90 over 18 months) over 24 months (£20 x the extra 6 months is £120) is better than this deal.

I think I would rather keep the £210 for myself

also the 3 deal includes unlimited 3to3 calls
