3 are doing their Mix & Match 1100 plan for £19.50 a month for this weekend only starting today.

For new customers on an 18 month contract, this includes a range of free phones or you can add a higher specced phone on top of this.

The plan gives you 1100 minutes or text messages, 300 3 to 3 minutes, and free Skype to Skpe calls. Further details are on the website.

Would not use '3' due to their poor customer services. You can never speak to a British Person.

Well, that's a constructive post. Please do not make a post like that and not even explain why you have this opinion...

Customer services are based in India but as are many other companies.. Personally I've nevered had a problem and there's no denying over 1100 minutes for £19.50 is an excellent rate.

i am half way through an 18 month contract and i have been very pleased with three, never had a problem with customer service and i have used them a few times, i suppose i have been lucky as i reallt can't complain
#8
Thanks for the heads up!

Just gone with 3 and have to say that I'm very pleased so far :) Only thing is that they have just dropped the O2 roaming agreement :x , so it now only roams on Orange, but hey, at least it roams within the UK (which is more than other providers do) AND the roaming minutes come out of your free calls , so its a HOT from me

Three are fantastic, this is a great deal! And the cashback tracks reliably, not sure about paying becausem ine hasn't cleared yet.

Only problem is customer services can be a bit of a handful but so can most companies.

oh man, my contract with 3 is up in june and i need a new good deal, hope they run something like this then.

I have had '3' for over a year now and know several people who also do.

one friend had a problem because an agreement with o2 stopped and they can now only get a signal at one point in the house (tho to be fair it was like that from the start of their contract but they didn't use the 14 day opt out)

I was supposed to get 18 months half price line rental but it ended after 6 months, it took a few phone calls (would have been alot less if my phone battery didn't go dead half way through) but £90 was credited to my account and i got another 6 months halfprice set up, effectivly giving me the same deal.

So I wouldn't say they were the worst customer service out ther, there are plenty worse (currently Zavvi are beating them in my leauge but then they haven't been able to deliver anything to my door or one of their shops for instore pick up, but that is another very long story)

Hi Vimes220, I've probably got the same deal as you ie 18 months half price on the £35 tarriff starting Jan 07as they mucked mine up as well. Makes you wonder if it was on purpose to see how many people would notice? I'm tempted by this but cant take out another contract as I've got a second contract with Orange as well!!! Ah well, I'll have to wait and see what's available in June :-D

appreciate opinion from those that said wouldn't touch them as they might have experienced something unpleasant with 3 before, just wish they had illustrated why they/others shouldn't touch.

nevertheless, to push the issue even further, then please tell me any network provider or mobile retailer in the uk who is faultless please.

i've never been with 3 before but this is a good deal.

just been on internet chatting with a 3 representative, asking questions.
what you might want to know is that no 3 store deals with customer service issues and so one has to deal with cs on the phone - personally i would have preferred to deal with someone face-to-face had it not been the great deal posted by op.

all phones are brand new (not sure if you get one from the clearance section on the website) and 19.50 quid (if you get the deal posted by op) is for each month for the entire 18 months (some may prefer a 12-month contract).

the sales representative also claimed free instant messaging, skype calls meant they wouldnt charge you and your friend's whose on im and skype calls with you. BUT they should check with their network provider to see whether the same applies to you and your friend... also, skype call does not include ''skype out''.

you might have found this information ''rubbish'', but for someone like me, who had no idea and who wanted to make sure a few things before placing my order, i found the sales representative helpful and that the information was good (if my understanding was correct).

thanks for reading.

p.s. voted hot and add rep to op - thanks.

just got rid of three due to their imcompetant customer services

spent all of the previous week with them trying to get an upgrade phone delivered. they told me tuesday so i waited in (lost a days wages).......no phone spoke to them they said parceline must have delayed delivery and it would be delivered wednesday. took another day off and called wednesday spoke to two 'managers' who explained that the phone never left three and wont be delivered till thursday. tolfd them to cancel the upgrade was told couldnt cancel until friday when three get the phone back after parceline try to deliver i refuse then they return it!!!!! called friday was told that couldnt cancel till monday as parceline would not get the phone back to 3 till then spoke to 2 senior managers the 2nd one finally agreed to cancel my contract there and then but that took all week lost 2 days of wages which 3 refused to compensate me for and finally they told me that they had done me a favour by agreeing to cancel the upgrade!!!!

sorry s**t company so voted cold

I'm from the Indian Subcontinent but can agree with the sentiment of poster. They dont understand a word, its like talking to an automated machine.

I can't fault three. been with them for 3 years now, each time i started a new contract on a great deal.
For the people that moan about the phones, just get another 3g phone? I use a T650i.
What i find great with 3 is if you add the x-series addon ( £5 a month ) you get free skype, browsing etc and i can go on the internet anywhere with my laptop using the phone via bluetooth.

Great coverage down in the south-west and i live in the middle of nowhere! Even if there isnt 3 coverage it uses o2 and orange and backup. can't go wrong really!

Why upgrade when you could leave and start a new contract with quidco (£80 in this case)

No reason why you cant port your number as well.

Sorry to hear that you had so much trouble with your delivery, but have to say the one i got was delivered as promised, same for my dad, 2 sister in laws, and wifes (i should be on bloody commision i have sent so much business their way)

Yes same deal but £30 reduced to £15 :-D
I must have got it just before they changed the price. Wish they were doing a similar deal now (1000 texts, 300 Mins, 50 Video Mins, 50 MMS and £5 downloads is great)

Been on three for 18 months, cancelling atlast and damn happy to be free of the most shoddy service I have ever had. Signal is weak EVERYWHERE, at home I miss hponecalls because they simply dont arrive because my phone had lost its signal. If I make a call at home its extremley choppy missing words sentances e.t.c and eventually it will cut out.

Rang three about this, nothing they can do its normal, and yes indian call centre didnt understand a word i was saying an di could not understand them. Rang to cancel contract 2 weeks ago, Took ages to get it through to customer services and i am still wary if they actually cancelled it, they also spent over 30 minutes trying to put me on a 'better' priceplan that was actually more expensive then they offer online, i thought they were supposed to offer better deals if you try to leave? pathetic..

:thumbsup:brilliant deal. Thanks

I nearly signed up to an 18 month contract mix and match 500 last night which would have cost me £18/month but this is LOADS better!

Any recommendation on which phone to get? I was thinking about either the skype phone or a SEK800i.

The mega nice Nokia 6500 Classic Black is available for free with this deal

Get the 6500 classic, goes for £150+ on ebay. The skype phone retails for £50 so wouldnt get that tbh

If you chat to someone via their live help on the website they give you a £20 'Accessories Voucher' to use upon checkout.

Except, I can't actually fathom out what this £20 goes towards? Can anyone confirm?

hot.

Great deal. Their customer services may be in india, but you'd be hard pressed to find a more polite representative.

You can also get the unlimited data add-on for £5 a month. Unlimited internet (fair usage applies) which means you can run all sorts of 3rd party voip software. You can also use skypeout and SIP via the FRING application.

I'm on the £15 for life (500 mins inc) contract, this is a great deal for those who need text as well.
#28
ah yes, as mentioned by previous poster, get the accessory code from their chat reps !!
you can get a free bluetooth headset with it..

I'm a 3 user, for a couple of years now. never had any problems with the network. When I've admin problems, the CS people in India havn't been that bad.

Comparing to other companies like insurance etc. They are not too bad, even I have managed to have decent and funny conversations to get LG Viewty for free on 12 months contract.

However i think 3 network is pretty good but you must have 3g compatible phone to use this network otherwise you will get told off (as part of terms and conditions).
#31
I have a 3 contratc and I have to say that although the customer services are based in India (as mentioned above) they do try to be as helpful as possible and as long a you stay calm and talk and explain everything to them then they are as nice and helpful as any other customer service department that I have dealt with. And its not like I didnt have to deal with them a lot!

I had to call them when my phone turned up as it was broken and i needed a replacement, it was replaced within 2 days wih no problems, I had to call them to activate X-series (RECOMMENDED ALL 3 PEOPLE TO JOIN THIS!!! 3G internet on your phone is an absolute godsend) and I had to call them when I sold my phone and got a new mobile and wanted to activate X-series silver....

Anyway, this looks like a great deal, voted hot!

It's a shame that so many have had bad experiences. I've been whith them for just over a year now and can't fault them so far. I've found the CS really polite and helpful, great signal everywhere etc. and their prices a bargain compared to alot of others - this is a cracking deal .
#37
My Wifes Phone is due for renewal but in 2 months, might get this as she just got a £30 refer a friend and will have it free for 2 months. sooo soooo tempting.

isn't there a code for the bluetooth headset?

1100 minutes or texts (or mix)
300 '3' to '3' minutes to call most of her family, my family and several friends
£80 quidco
£30 Refer a friend (and £30 for me)
Possibly a free bluetooth headset.

Oh yeah btw I voted hot, now here is some rep for the OP too..

Had several contracts with 3 and their customer service is very inconsistent and verges on comical sometimes.
How you are treated rests clearly on which CS rep you get. Most of them are clearly following a script or some sort of flow chart. I joined them 18 months ago on a pretty decent deal with a Nokia N70 for free. The phone had an annoying buzz out of the box and with one phone call I managed to get them to swap it for an N80. My wife also took out the same deal and it must of a been a batch problem as her N70 also had the same problem but 3 would not budge and only offered a repair or cancellation, she obviously canceled. At the end of my contract they had the cheek to offer a special deal which was worse than what new customers were getting so I told them where to get off. In addition they had the nerve to charge me a cancellation fee that they didn't bother telling me about and one which I could have avoided by waiting 4 days before porting my number over to another provider. The network however was spot on but CS was hit and miss.

yes, but you get people from India who probably have a better command of English than you ... Why, pray tell, does speaking to a Brit make things better? If anything, the Brits are renowned for their extremely poor customer service compared with many other countries :whistling:

EDIT: p.s. I also recommend 3 and find their service and customer service, on the whole, excellent.

No it isnt!! Grow up!! What is wrong with wanting to speak to someone in this country, about a mobile phone issue in this country?? Especially if the issue is a bit technical, it is really annoying if you are speaking to someone in India who cant really understand you (I had this with Tiscali and it was a nightmare!)

Political correctness really has gone too far. To say that someone who wants to talk to a British person instead of someone in India is racist, is pathetic.
