How do you know it's cost price?

Does the Diesel smell of bleach? I'm sure it was a Red head yesterday.

There was a big poster outside that said they were selling fuel at cost price on Wednesday :)

Has this not already been posted ?
Or are there two filling stations in the mighty town of Dundonald doing this ?
#5
Maybe I'm a little suspicious but is it coincidental that the cost price ends in .9 same as most other stations.

Hmm I had a quick look but could well have missed it.

Perhaps the .9 makes it a little different - but I would suspect it is still extremely close to cost price.

It's either cost price or it isn't. If it's not exactly cost price then it's false advertising.

I also wonder what they count as cost price, if it's a quiet garage they could've bought the fuel a couple of weeks ago at a higher price than it is now.

Well, assuming it's not false advertising, then it's cost price.

Cost price could be the price per litre they pay for the fuel (material cost), or it could also include their fixed costs as well.

I'm just trying to wrap my head round why they would do this unless they have a very expensive shop attached.

Is there much in the way of competition in the area?
#11
There is a very small shop attached, it's only about the size of a large van - not sure on prices though.

There is a Maxol garage about a mile away, with petrol at about 1.15/1.16 and an Asda petrol station about 4 miles away.

Every filling station displays the cost price. Just go in and ask what it costs and it'll be the same as the sign.

Is this the most boring conversation ever? The price is as shown and that's it! No need to discuss!

Still £1.13 in greenisland rip off.
