How good is it at handling full hd and streaming movies over 1gb LAN?? Also can I use it for popcorn tv or movietube?
#2
4k output?
#3
Great box and price but one HUGE problem... from what I can gather it doesn't have Bluetooth! so can't use a remote keyboard (or bluetooth phone remote)- only the virtual one off the screen which is a pain in the back s.... Shame :-(

Can someone confirm if a Bluetooth dongle works just as well with this unit?

XBMC will support its own remote over the WiFi of a phone. Should work on this?

note its a relatively slow SOC (quadcore A5) but as long as you stick to what codecs are hardware accelerated you will be ok though if you are using it for codecs (or any other use) it will be slow

Is xmbc defo on this box? Access to sports movies etc?

If it has a USB port you can buy a wireless keyboard even if it doesn't have Bluetooth, I have a media box similar to this and I bought a keyboard pad that comes with the usb that you put in which gives wireless access so you don't need to rely on the onscreen keyboard. Looks pretty good seeing as I bought one which was around £60 with similar specs last year :)

XBMC is a media playback solution. Addons give you content.

XBMC itself, will not provide you with movies and sports. No

No worries, I got my remote of eBay btw just type in usb wireless keyboard and you'll see them and they aren't too expensive for the handheld ones dude. I got one which has a track pad on it too so you can use a cursor to scroll etc and they are only about £10 but essential for ease of use I think :)

Xbmchub wizard installer, fairly simple, good straight forward instructions too.

it should have it on but its easy to install, just look at some guides to installing apps for xbmc. For sport you will need to install xbmc since mashup was removed by the author. (looking at the reviews the video shows it has xbmc)

The box should be fine for most stuff but it will most likely not output 4k but most people dont have a 4k TV, 1080p will be fine. I have an M8 amlogic box and thats good but thats 30 quid more.

This is a better buy for £7 more it has the new Mali-450 GPU and Amlogic S805 audio chip meaning 4K and DTS decoding. Its fulfilled via Amazon and sold by the same company.

On a phone or tablet yes,
But not really on a TV box,
Nexus player also comes with 1gb ram,
You will multitask more on a tablet or phone then a TV box,

To setup xbmc follow the tvaddon guide ;)

Bought anyhow for pure convenience sake. Did have a MX box until it packed in around November. Had been using a Linx tablet with XBMC on win 8.1 but still prefer the handiness (laziness) of having something always connected to the TV.

already got 2 Chromecast and 2 nowtv side loaded with rarplex and I'm still tempted, I'm guessing xbmc will have a better menu structure than c2g and clickplay

if you are spending that much, you might as well just get an Amazon Fire TV. Hands down the best streaming device for XBMC

wow the Q&A on that really is ****, and what the heck is a PowerVR SGX544MP2? (serious q, i've no idea if it's supported or what).
edit: may be an Allwinner A31, no official support, don't buy.

if you want to run XBMC don't buy anything without checking this

but this

looks like a bargain, not sure what remote it comes with but it's an S805 chipset for £36 delivered. that's good.
