Mobile Broadband from 3 based on the 15GB per month plan (should be enough for most people) and with it you get Samsung laptop and a PSP 3000 with four games all for £40 a month!!
Pretty good me thinks.

I sugest you make sure the 3 broadband works well in your area and dont just ask one of the moneys in store who will more likely ask for your postcode and "definitely" know that you will receive brilliant signal.

24 months x £40 per month = £960

Why not buy a PSP with about 4 games for about £200 max
And a Samsung NC10 for about £300 max
And then get a mobile broadband contract from 3 for £10 - £20 per month that ties you in for less time and works out far cheaper?

Just a thought???

True in the coverage of the signal but...........Welcome to HUKD good first post and don't let the idiots on here worry you Well done! H/R for you:thumbsup:

£40 a month seeps alot of cash, obviosuly the prices of the laptop and psp are desolved into this. as you could get it for £15 a month without the "free stuff"

i guess if you cant get a decent land line signal or need mobile on the move net then going for one of these deals is a good idea.

but do what Matt0201 said and check that your signal in the area your mainly going to be using it is strong.

Just to add that I have 3 mobile broadband and regularly travel between london and the north west. Reception is excellent on the train journey and at each destination I've stopped at. Rarely have any problems, and its reasonably fast too. But I'm happy paying £15 per month on my £250 netbook.

S**T its 24 months? i just checkd the site too... yeah its not a good deal on the long term, you would be beter of getting everything on there own, and using pay monthly schemes if you need to.

NC10 - £289 at Dixons
PSP + 4 games £200 ish
15GB per month on mobile broadband....almost impossible at the speeds you actually get. I have a mobile broadband 30 day payg and currently struggle to use the alloted 3GB per month.

Cost of contract = 24months at £40 = £960....and its 3mobile....

Going to have to vote cold for the above reasons.

I already have 3 broadband and it's contract ends next month which is why I want a new one, been more than happy with the coverage and I am in an awful area.

Appreciate what is said about overall cost but still thinks its pretty good myself, everyone is entitled to an opinion....

I agree...Its a pretty good deal. But I think the main attraction, surely, is the fact that you get all this great gear, without paying a penny up front!! So the idea of forking out £500 for a NC10 and a PSP to make it cheaper in the long run is probably not that attractive!

I'd say stick it on the credit card and pay it off at the rate you would be paying 3 mobile for it. But you'd have to be a hardcore moneysaver not be tempted by this 3 offer I reckon!

24 month contract, so overall cost of mobile broadband == £40 * 24 == £960

If you consider these items separately (and with no real attempt to find cheapest):

Cost of samsung NC10 == £309
Cost of (soon to be out of date) Sony PSP + 2games == £139.
Both other games should be less than £30 together == £30
Cost of 24 months of 15GB broadband at 3 mobile == £15 per month x 24 months == £360

So total cost here is: £838.

Now, that's with no shopping around AT ALL, and it's still coming in at significantly less than this deal. If you really want to buy all this stuff, then get it on credit card and pay it off over 2 years as the interest will be less than £122 over that time.

Firstly, unless mobile broadband is your only means of broadband then you will NEVER use 15GB, as it's just not fast enough to be bothered about torrenting or doing massive downloads and you'd have to be constantly watching youtube videos 24/7 to get close to using 15GB. I've had 3GB mobile broadband for over a year and have never come close to getting to 3GB (although I have broadband at home, so don't use mobile broadband full time) and have only gone over 1GB about 3 months out of 12.

You can get 1GB per month these days from around £5-10 (with Virgin and some pre-paid stuff from Dixons).
You can get about 4.5% quidco for the Samsung NC10 from cdiscount (~ £12).

And you'd be better off without a PSP, as it's moribund technology right now.

So, safe yourself a packet and don't get this. It truly is a con.

To follow up on the last post, if you want to keep your monthly outgoings small then get your Samsung NC10 from cdiscount, spreading the repayments over 3 months with 0% apr.

http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/Computing/netbooks/allnetbooks/samsung-nc10-white/f-1090-178517.html

It'll come out to £103 per month, less your £12 quidco.

It's also worth noting that 12 months ago, I was paying £15 per month for 3GB mobile broadband, and you can now get 5GB for the same, so the price is currently halving every year or so. It's always worth getting your contract by the year for this kind of stuff. By next year, you'll be getting 7-10GB for £15 per month.

Good advice, where possible go for the rolling monthly contracts or PAYG. 6 month or 12 month contracts at a push, but I personally would never get tied into anything longer than that because by 2 years' time, your'e paying a lot more than everyone else for the same thing!

12GB / 12 months + MB Broadband for £70.66 + postage, so around £6 per month. Can always be topped up as required.
