i used to have a mobile world sim but they went bust! guess theyve started again?

Is this a good sim if you are visiting a foreign country and wish to receive calls from the UK without getting hammered for just accepting the call?
#7
Does this SIM mean I can take the mobile abroad and make cheap international calls from say Spain - which I want? Or does it mean it can just be used to make cheap international calls from the UK?

Ive got one of these Mobile World SIMs. AVOID!!!! They (or at least mine) is only for calling FROM the UK. Sure, its cheap to call abroad with it at 10p/min within europe, but why bother when u can Skype for free, or call through Skype to a landline for about a penny minute to many countries worldwide.
You have to put a 2 in front of the international number to get the cheap calls and they are routed through the internet. I must say that the call quality varies from barely acceptable to unusable in my experience. Add on the fact that you cannot use this outside the UK (ie no roaming) and theyre pretty much useless.
I too have a Skoda. (well 4 atm)

Hi, Good find IMHO.
Voted hot.

One more thing, if you dont use up your credit within 90 days, it disappears and they will disconnect your SIM. On the plus side, it piggybacks the O2 network, so covergae is good. Still, although not a bad deal, i wont be rushing to my nearest Aldi...

The best use for Mobile World sims is for foreign students to phone home.
Saves them a fortune.

does this mean that if you don't make 1 call you lose everything, or if you put on (say) £10, you have to use the £10 within 90 days?

shouldn't be hard to make 1 call every 90 days to keep the sim going

yeah i wanted to know this?

although when i was just in greece o2 sent me a message that said it would cost 35ppm to call from my mob and 18ppm to recieve calls. however it took them about 3 days to activate it on my phone and by that point i was almost home.

although last year when i was in rome my international calls totalled £70 for the week.

my boyfriend lives in greece but i dont know if it would save me because my messages that i send to him come out of my allowance and also im sure that its cheaper than 20ppm to call him.

not sure about this one.but to phone the us it does seem cheap!

being lazy, i rang my current provider O2 and they said for £3 a month i could just add the international option... HOWEVER, i've since checked their website and they have an option for a discount country if you just want one:

all info here:
http://www.o2.co.uk/international/callingabroadfromtheuk/pricespaymonthly

still a good deal on the sim - but i'm too lazy to swap :p

note: £3 a month for a discount country, but brings price down from 99ppm to 9ppm at best

The goldon rule when using a mobile phone in a foreign country, is buy a foriegn simcard to make calls when you get there.

It will always work out cheaper, ALOT cheaper.
