BlackBerry Curve 8520 on O2 18 months contract £20.00 pm possible £40 Quidco and £160 Cashback by redemption from Mobileexpress!

Not a bad price for this smartphone, if you can claim cashback at the right time, it works out as £11.11 a month, less £40 Quidco! Minutes 75 per month Texts 125 per month

Definately not good

75 mins 125 texts permonth and no mention of Blackberry servivce which negattes most of the benefits of having a Blackberry..

And it relies on cashback from a little eknown company - part of Phones4U?

Terrible Deal
Look on Carphone Warehouse

Just did, the CPW deals are 24 months contracts (T-mobile) at £20/month; this one is for 18 months, saving you £120. Also there are no cashbacks on this smartphone in there ...

Seems like a good deal to me. I've been looking for one like this and although there are a few, there doesn't seem to be many that offer contracts over 18 months with unlimited internet for less than

The black version on the dialtosave website, going through a company called Beepy (never heard of them).

£23.89 per month
Black HTC Hero
700 minutes
Unlimited SMS
1GB data
18 month contract with T-Mobile

Also, there is £40 Quidco (Beepy) which would work out at £21.67 per month (Life of the contract is £430 without Quidco, £390 with).

So £21.67 wins. Although it's T-Mobile and they charge for VPS. And there are a few hundred less minutes.

Another thing that I noticed is that the unlimited internet isn't quite unlimited!! It says that its subject to a 500mb pm FUP. WTF is all that about?

This phone should be connected to the net all the time to make the most of it. Coupled with the fact that you are gonna want to stream TV programmes and stuff like that, is 500mb enough?

Can anyone clarify whether it will be suitable or not?

Not for TV streaming it wont...in fact 500mb is quite low but others seem to top off at 1gb....not sure about o2 though??

What I mean is - In order to claim my redemption, do I have to have paper billing (which costs £1.50 pm) or can I do it another way?

If I do have to have it, the deal will be nowhere near as attractive with an extra £27 to be shelled out over the 18 months.

Oh and I get what you mean about the 'cheaper' thing. I'll give it to you on that basis :)

I would say that you are clutching at straws when you say that they are better deals. You have to initially pay £45 a month!

Qualified by my earlier statement of
"Better? Depends on your attitude towards the intricacies of monthly costs versus cashback return (or not).... Cheaper...Most definitely" (cos it's a lower monthly cost).

tony863;6481061
On another note, how does the redemption thing work if you don't pay the extra £1.50 for itemised billing?

Not aware that itemised billing is a pre-requisite, or do you mean paper billing?
Cahback eleigibility criteria varies from company to company but generally all the vendor will ask to see is formal doc itemising name, address, mobile number, contract cost - typically all contained on 1st page of Orange bill (unless Orange have a special promo page prior to the bill proper).

Also note that I previously stated:
"OP's deal would be my choice..."

I think this offer is available again but the phone costs £19.96 instead of getting it for free.

So if the OP changes the title they could un-expire this.

Also has anybody refer a friend in here usign their "tell a friend" ?

http://www.mobileexpress.co.uk/taf.html

That's £20 that whoever refers gets, so I am sure we could use that as well.

If somebody that bought a phone from here send me a PM, if I go for it I could let you know and you get £20 and we could go half on it. I rather have a HUKD member getting £20 or £10 if we go half than nothing.
i ordered mine for delivery on the 30th. it got postponed to the 1st,2nd,4th and now due the 6th of july :x fingers crossed it comes monday.
So, did anyone get theirs?

Was the handset unlocked?
****** missed it.

I have read a few pretty poor reviews of this phone - is it actually decent?

I'm becoming tempted to buy a second hand iphone and use a Vodafone sim with it instead. Would miss my sat nav though!

Any HTC Magic users here? cnet reckon this is the next best thing after iphone.....

Got any recommendations for price comparison sites which are easy to navigate/read on an iPhone screen?

I was using a Blackberry Storm up until a week ago and now using the new Curve and I don't tend to bother so much with price comparison sites on the phone just go to www.froogle.co.uk which is the shopping part of Google or you can select shopping at the top of google.co.uk. Pretty much everything listed on price comparison sites will show up here anyway and being Google its pretty minimalist and loads quickly.

How much could the phone be sold for?

i recently sold a brand new unlocked one for £120, hated the phone, not at all what i was hoping for.
How much could the phone be sold for?
Well done for your first deal post!

Seems to be an 18 month contractual comitment, to get this free phone, so £24 x 18 = £432 comitment, before any rebate etc. It's worth considering if any other phone dealers would have an equivalent offer, particularly those where Quidco will also pay cashback, on top of any money that the dealer/network might rebate.

Always check out the terms for getting cashback from dealers/networks too, as they can be very strict and limiting, resulting in many people failing to get money back, if they don't stick to the terms to the letter.
Hi, looks to me like you have 900 minutes or texts on mix n match, the unlimited texts seem to be on texter plans with less minutes - (not sure if this should be mentioned, but seems a pity not to - £50 cashback available from Quidco.)
