What's this like in terms of video and sound quality against say a 100 quid version gopro.

I've bought from this seller before and can confirm that their Mobius cameras are genuine.

Nice find OP, I have been thinking of buying a second dash cam for the back window

does the camera face any heat issues?

Don't worry about it getting hot, it helps defrost the top of your windscreen :)
best dashcam, i'd had it over 2 years and it still meets most new cameras for picture quality in all lighting conditions.
Worth getting the Capacitor upgrade if used as a dash cam.

Just wanted to say thanks for this, it's got no WI-FI but still looks good.

It gets hot if that's what you mean, but it's been fine permanently fitted in my car for a few years now.

I would recommend replacing the battery with a super capacitor if you plan on leaving it in the sun, though.

lol just worried it might blow up in my face!

Also, if you want to mount one (or two) in a car, then Sugru is really good stuff to fix it in place. Those 3M sticky pads usually melt and fall off when left in the sun, and superglue won't work on most car interior plastics (ABS).

Not got a dash cam? What you waiting for, excellent bit of kit, easy to hide away, excellent picture quality, excellent software with loads of settings, excellent build quality, loads of accessories available. Had my two (one front and one back) for a years and if they both broke this afternoon I would have ordered and have two more delivered by 1pm Tuesday

Wouldn't the 4K cameras fill up quick due to large file sizes if you intend on using it as a dash cam

If your using it as a dash cam you don,t need 4K just lower the setting to record at 1080p.

Stick with the 4k if it's a dash cam, incidents take moments not hours and they automatically overwrite when full so who cares if you don't have hours of nothing saved.

Get your credit card out & appreciate how minuscule this setup is compared to the average dashcam. Mounted on the dotted zone adjacent to the rear view mirror, nobody will ever notice it, including passengers.

Best to test both 4K and 1080p settings check see if 4k works reliably enough to use.

I have 6 of these cameras, so I know how big they are :) Much more descrete to not use a mount at all (although not all cars are suitable for this), or you can do what I did on my previous car and use a lens extension cable so the body is completely hidden from the outside. I'd totally use that kind of mount in a rear dark tinted window though.

I don't think it's desirable to have it completely hidden from the driver or front passenger, as Möbius cameras are not infallible, and the only way you can tell it's stopped working is by looking at the recording light.

That's for that. I've been after a smaller mount.
Is this one? It's hard to tell with the strap on.

To be honest, a cheap dashcam is the last thing going to be on the mind of a thief. I've had mine in my car for about 2 years now and everyone who's ever been in my car has not noticed it until I had to interact with the device. Even people who knew I had one have asked where is it expecting it to be a honking great camera. Mine isn't even a Mobius it's a mini 0805 which has a similar footprint to a Mobius when you include the mount.

I would also add that I've parked my car in dozens of different places and so far it's not been broken into. I'm not aware of any reports of a dashcam being stolen from a locked car.

Yes. Remove the strap, & it's ready for use as possibly the smallest, most discreet dashcam mount in popular use with Mobius & other dashcams with 1/4" tripod threads.

DIYers can find inspiration at ...

The other 95% of buyers just want a convenient ready made mounting solution, hence the suggested helmet mount.

6 left in Amazon warehouse deals. They also apply to the current 20% off for students. Just ordered for £34 :)

I have had one of these in my car for about 2 years now, and it has been great. I have it connected to the cigarette lighter socket by a wired in usb cable. I comes on as soon as the ignition is on, and just works as it should. It can be configured by using a Mobius Firmware program for windows.

Came in a plastic branded bag. Looks absolutely pristine. Tried it as a quick webcam and quality seems fine. Will get it setup over the weekend.

sounds good. i'm getting behind the wheel for the first time after passing and looking to get this installed first. Are you going to be doing it yourself or through someone else?

For those who think it is easily seen and can be nicked by any scroat who sees it, I have to say that it is NOT easily seen from outside unless you get right close up to trhe windscreen. I have had it in my car for nigh on 2 years now, and it is still there today.
