Banggood are are a developer verified reseller. Can't find any other info backing that up but from the detail included in the post and a general look around the rest of the forum I see no reason to doubt.

This is the C2 version with a shielded case (so won't mess up your GPS) and the newest lens.
These are probably the best dash cams you can buy for under £50 and are very discrete due to the small size.

I bought one of the earlier versions a couple of years ago and not had a single problem with it

These are well worth the money. I have one mounted just under my rear view mirror with the wiring going through the roof lining and down the door pillar to a power unit behind the stereo. Turns on when the car starts and off when the engines off - small, discreet and works brilliantly.

After hours & hours of research I bought one of these 2 yrs ago. it's still performing superbly, so good I bought another to act as a rear in-car camera.
They do run quite hot, so I have put mini self-adhesive heatsinks on the existing metal heatsink area. Well worth doing for longevity especially during summer months when cars can get very hot inside.

I HAVE TWO IN MY CAR (1 facing front and 1 rear) AWESOME but I would not chance it to save 10 quid when you can get from a UK retailer selling official stock. This arrives from China and is fake you got no come back.

Matchbox size, cracking image quailty, really good software/customization etc.

They all come from China. The company who makes them is Chinese.

Also as far as I can tell, after people spoke to the manufacturers they have confirmed banggood as an authorised reseller.

If anything you should get it quicker via banggood as the authorised ebay sellers ship directly from China whereas banggood seem to have a UK warehouse (I bought one earlier today and they have said it'll be shipped via Royal Mail 2nd class post).

Any links to the heatsink you mention wirdy?

I have both cameras.
I use a mobius in my two famly cars because they are so tiny they can not be seen from the outside so no worries off any smack heads smashing the windows to nick it.
I use the G1w in my taxi but have to remove it when its parked because of the chance it'll get nicked because it can clearly be seen from the outside.
Recording quality is excellent on both in daylight but the G1w is slightly better at night but the Mobius is still reallly good at night.
I bought all three cameras from amazon themselves a few years ago and they were genuine.

Great camera, got the original a few years ago and it's still going strong. I got my original one from BangGood and it's genuine so now worries about buying from them.

OP's link goes to one shipped from their EU Warehouse, I don't know if it still is, but it used to be located in the UK (unlike DX's eu/uk warehouse) and the second class royal mail postage suggest it still is.

Got a link to the heat sink adhesives? Both front and rear get hot (very hot) when in use and warm weather. That's the heatsinks job I guess but over a year without issues. I do have the battery capacitor in the front and bought the lens cable so I could seperate lens from main body for a better angle but never used it as I haven't needed too. Other the cable and capacitor were cheap to buy from UK suppliers.

Whether shipped from China or their UK/EU Warehouse, in the event of a fault, you have to post it to China at your considerable expense. No consumer protection. Buy it from a Mobius-approved UK seller like JooVuu, Webbex, etc & enjoy the peace of mind of UK consumer protection law.

Are you sure about that? According to their support staff in this forum post (which I accept aren't necessarily a reliable source) you can return items from the eu warehouse back to it:- http://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-114314.html

I wouldn't know about Banggood myself as I've not sent anything back yet, I know DX have a UK return address, as I once sent back an IP camera and got postage refunded as well.

Incidentally, I nearly purchased an item from JooVuu once, but noticed they didn't provide a physical address, just a PO box, which put me off using them, I also though it was a breach of rules for a UK seller.

I've seen a number of complaints by Banggood & GearBest UK/EU Warehouse customers, who were given addresses in China to which to return faulty goods. The cost often made the process economically unviable, relative to the product price. If the product contained a battery, it was difficult to find a carrier willing to take the product.

JooVuu include their physical address on their packaging. They're in Stockport.

Any reasonable watertight cases yet? There was only the one rather poor design last time I looked, from Joovuu. Camera its self, amazin for the price. Great apps in the Play store for setting up all up, updating, etc.

No problems with BangGood, if it is your first order, there was a discount (maybe sign up for an account and wait for a welcome email ....), and another small one for using their App.(both t.b.c) So check it out on your desktop or laptop and order with the App.

Hesitating, because the last customer to post a response in this thread said he got one with an unshielded case. :|

Have/had one of these mainly for my quadcopter, image quality is pretty decent, nice colours, fish eye effect is pretty bad (although will be less of an issue as a dashcam) only capable of 30fps at 1080p and has a rolling shutter, but can't grumble for £48. I bought mine last year off a uk seller on ebay for a couple of quid more, wouldn't ever buy anything from banggood.

no dont get the Prance, last 13 months and no longer records!

Chances are your sd card has died or needs re-formating (preferably in the camera itself)
Have you tried a new sd card? It should sort out your recording problem

any of these around the same price with capacitor instead of battery?

I bought a second G1W from BangGood via PayPal. (First G1W was from E-Prance who I recommend).

BangGood sent a fake for which the low light WDR (Wide Dynamic Range - [which is a reason for buying the G1W in itself - produces bright and vivid images in low light conditions - has nothing to do with those $hi++y LEDs]) function did not work, the colour set up was heavily skewed towards red and the footage was noisy and made it look as if the mount was constantly vibrating.

Bang good asked me for evidence which I provided by google drive links to videos shot with both cameras pointing the same way on a short journey.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8xHPRw-hP_cT1MwMGdEM0VKRGs?usp=sharing

BangGood first asked me to return the item to China (I bought it through their Europe distribution centre) at my cost, then offered £5 refund and for me to keep the item, then refused to communicate any further with me. PayPal got my money back, the camera went in the bin. I now have 2 G1W's from E-Prance via Amazon and I'm very pleased with them.

I had this issue. Buy through PayPal. I got my refund without having to return to China. I bought it from their Europe Distribution centre incidentally.

Got one of these from Banggood and had it for about half a year mounted rear facing on my cycling helmet. Very useful when making a complaint to a coach company for a driver who nearly knocked me off my bike.
Only problem is lack of affordable weatherproof case. Choice of one at the moment and not cheap.

Bought mine direct from the manufacturers on eBay - eletoponline365

+1 for eletoponline365 via ebay (if you don't fancy Banggood for any reason - I've no experience of them myself). I've bought several Mobiuses + various cables & mounts from eletoponline365 and their service is absolutely first rate.

Brilliant little cameras, wouldn't drive without one now.

Tempted myself, as been after one of these for ages.

But, how does one ensure that it is the shielded case model ? Any visible differences ?
#38
have had the original mobius in the car for years, sadly if it has the battery in it, i would suggest replacing with the super capacitor or you will be changing the battery every odd year. but a cracking dash cam. I don't know what the new lens is like, but even the original lens gave great resolution videos. have some heat

Thanks for confirming that, I'll think twice in future about buying anything with a battery in it, or otherwise difficult, or expensive to return to them in China. I bought a G1WH from them myself, fortunately it was over a couple of years ago, before their supplier switched from the Novatek nt96650 + aptina sensor, to the cheap generalplus chipset, so I got a good one.

Worth registering for free paypal returns till December if anyone's not done so already, although the £15 limit is not likely to be enough to cover returning anything with a lithium battery in it, if you can actually find a courier that can handle them.
