I was looking on dvd.co.uk & came across this at a good price for the pre order considering it won't drop in price for about 78 years after it's release.

Probably be a good price for the game, but a lot of places would not have set a price for it yet, you can always order it now and cancel it later if anybody has it cheaper. As was put before when it is released will not come down for awhile.

probably the best price on pc at the moment, xbox and ps3 prices for this are a joke at the moment

Pretty standard price for a game of this quality on PC, They are always £10-15 cheaper than Consoles.

This isn't standard at all, and the previous game is one of the best ever made. PC games are usually at least £34.99 at release. There were stories that Activision was going to try and release this gamer for £50 on all formats, so this could be a great bargain.

Hot from me.

Too right it wont

is 1 quid more on amazon. play.com haven't listed a price for it yet.

pc games are usually cheaper than consoles, because there is no licensing costs factored into the price.

In fact this is a poor deal, There's no Quidco on this unlike GAME where you get 9% roughly £3 back and also unlike GAME you get points into the bargain, 600 points is about £1.50.

In my experience its always cheaper for the pc, I paid £24 for cod 4 the week it came out, mailorder, and I got Bf2 back in 2005 when that first came out for twenty something, I even was sad enough to get my cod5 from asda in the wee small hours, because it had a midnight release, and that was cheap. Don't believe the hype! Just be prepared to shop around, worked for me !

I won't pre-order games any more. You think you're on to a good deal and then the Supermarkets sell it for £10 less a day before release.
But this does seem a good price though. I love COD 4, but I won't be paying £45 for it on Xbox.

paid £20 for cod4 (pc) delivered on release day, although after the success of 4 I doubt 6 will be £20.

It always amazes me of the price for PC games, they generally sell less copies than the consoles version; I assume they need more testing than consoles what with all the video cards, system configurations.

I guess it must be down to the cost of the development kits for consoles or £££ they have to pay to Sony/MS for releasing on that platform....or of course they could just be tucking us up!
#14
Meh... it could be a flop in which case it'll be in the bargain bin a few months after release ;)

That and they're having to fight a massive piracy problem. With the explosion of online gaming it's less prevalent (although people play on hooky servers) but I think it was Activision who said the number of playing COD4 was amazing, but the number of people using hooky serial numbers was staggering.

I moved to a console (360) because I prefer a controller for FPS but for those that prefer keyboard and mouse all the best to you if you're buying your games.

"78 years"

Hahaha

Thanks OP, have ordered a copy of this.

As was suggested, if a better price appears elsewhere, I can always cancel this order and buy there instead.

Never used dvd.co.uk previously, do they tend to get things out to you on their release date? Was gutted last week when Play failied to get ArmA 2 out to me on it's release date! :)

+1

I'll try my luck with the supermarkets at release - let's face it as long as your checking in here every day you should be able to bag a cheapy if there's any going.

I just checked play.com and the pre-order price for xbox and ps3 is £45...WAAAAAW (not far away from £50 as someone mentioned before)
#21
Think your much better off pre-ordering this from GAME.
1.50 worth of points and 3£ from quidco takes this down to 25.50(ish). PLUS out of 3 games I've pre-ordered, 2 of them have arrived a day early, and the other came on release day.

Other places will only post ON release day so you wont see it till a few days later.
