Might have an interest in one of these myself - I've emailed about shipping to NI...

Anyway, in case anyone was wondering how it might compare to the newer RXW12 model [like me :)] may have an interest in reading this:

"Here is the information on the RXW12 and the improvements to it:

The new RXW-12 sub-woofer introduces a number of new developments housed in a compact high power unit. The new 500 watt Class D amplifier provides larger headroom, by utilising advanced Switch-mode power conversion techniques. The results are increased dynamics and control. A new 12” heavy duty C-CAM driver is equipped to deliver higher output and lower distortion than its predecessor, ensuring this powerful combination delivers tight, powerful bass to a thunderous 20Hz. Our engineers have uses a sealed enclosure type, well renowned to produce the best quality bass, and ensuring the RXW-12’s bass is fast and controlled under all operating conditions. The sealed box type and front firing driver combination is also makes for easy installation and set-up for custom installations or where location in close proximity to a room boundary is necessary.

Ultra long throw 12” C-CAM driver featuring triple suspension for ultimate linearity.
Large 3” voice coil and double stack motor system provides high power handling and low distortion.
Powerful 500Watt R.M.S Class –D amplifier with SMPSU able to deliver over 1000 watt peak.
12volt trigger - provides switching control from A.V amp or processor...
25mm (1”) thick M.D.F construction
Heavy radial cabinet bracing
Top mounted control panel for easy access."

The older RSW12 model [this one] doesn't have the 12 volt trigger.

I couldn't really advise - everyone has different budgets and tastes with the way their system should sound, but I'm wanting to put it with Mordaunt Short's Mezzo 2's and a 5 centre [I have Kef DS65 dipoles on the rear] http://www.mordauntshort.com/ranges.php?RAID=14&Title=Mezzo

I know their Mezzo 9 sub is well regarded, and this would be around the same price bracket RRP. Spec wise this goes lower to 21Hz.

At present I have a pair of Kef subs serving me well :) but would like something 'fresher' to go with my relatively new front trio....

Subwoofers do not need to be paired at all.

there is no tonal match you can get any subwoofer for any speakers

I have diamond 9.1 up front and alumni out back and this sub sounds amazing.

This is an amazing price! Bought mine from Sevenoaks just before Christmas and it cost over twice as much - got it paired with R90HD fronts and rears and a R225HD centre.

Very good price! That's a lot of sub for the money.
