I just rented from lovefilm, finished both in a day and got all trophies, sent it back next day.

You finished both "Monkey Island" & "Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge" in a single day?
Had you played either title previously?
(I recall it literally took me months to play through the MS-DOS based versions to completion in their respective years of release; 1990 & 1991)

Yeah they're one of my favorite games ever :D I played them on both Amiga and PC
did both in under 3 hours as well, got both trophies!
I wish they'd release Full Throttle on iPad (or similar) format - that was such a cool game, along with Grim Fandango and Blade Runner.

I thought you must have played them before to "speed-run" in that duration.
The LucasArts SCUMM™ adventures are also among my favourite games from any video/computer game generation.
"(Maniac Mansion) Day of the Tentacle" was my favourite from the early 1990s.

Never seen the film, but the game was awesome.

Yes, I agree.
I remember the days when a work colleague & I were playing independently (with these titles).
We would "compare notes" the following morning after a night's gaming & it was a great achievement to crack a puzzle that often took days if not weeks to resolve. We would give hints to each other if either of us had progressed further, but never the full solution.
It is too easy to visit Google or YouTube now, as you said.

True story ("inb4" cool... bro) I have tried to watch "Blade Runner" (the film) a few times & never made it to the end without falling asleep :)
I presume you mean the 1997 "Blade Runner" game not the one from 1982 with the same title :)
Have you seen the recent (2010) title, "The Whispered World" [ http://www.the-whispered-world.com ]? I was considering buying this for my youngest child to play as the (PlayStation Network) downloadable "Special Editions" of the first two "Monkey Island" titles were well received (last year).

I wish I had someone to compare notes with, I was stuck on Monkey Island (the area, not the actual game) for at least 5 years! It didn't help that Herman Toothrot was a useless old git and would rather ponce about than help me get him off the island.
Fantastic games though these two, great humour and still very playable to this day. If I didn't already buy these from PSN then I'd pick this up right away.
Do you recall the "copy protection" measure; the "Code Wheel"?
Has anyone experience the latter problem and if you did how did you get round it? (I have no other game saves to load either to try again)

Just follow what the second person says here:

Load a downloaded save game.

Now that and Grim Fandango are games that I want on my Android phone.
