These cables don't have any performance advantages over cheapo £3 cables but they do look nicer and better build quality.

If voting cold please leave explanation rather than pumping and running

Cheap for monster cable, but as a previous poster said it has no performance advantage over a cheap cable. HDMI is a digital signal, so it either works or it doesn't.

Hot on the price...cheapest around but as said...no advantage visible to the human eye

There are some advantages, not going to go into them in too much depth. Some of the cheapo ones are loose fitting, split easily, suffer inteferrance from other electrical devices I could go on but am too tired. You know if you want this or not, don't vote cold just because you prefer cheapo cables, its all a matter of personal opinion. If you can find this cable cheaper please post the location otherwise dont vote cold.;-)

Luke warm from me, purely since there are cheaper cables which do the same job.

Id rate this based on the price of a HDMI cable. I can pick one up for a coupla quid and they work fine. Not sure why I'd want a £12 one...

At just 1m long I'm not sure it will be very much use to many people.

There are, but that is not the point. If you are looking to buy this cable it is an excellent deal. They are durable and from a respected company. Plus they look much better

Man you could say that about any deal. The point is it will be of use to some people not everyone.

Have this. I noticed a difference straight away when I replaced the cheap one I had. Build quality is great. voted hot.

No benefit of spending £12 on a hdmi cable when You can get some for £3 as you will get the same signal with it being a digital signal so no need to spend more than a couple of pound.

The only difference between a cheap cable and a more expensive one is just cosmetic looks as expensive hdmi leads are a gimick

Got some of these

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/1112311/Linx-1-2m-Luxury-24k-Gold-Plated-HDMI-Cable/Product.html

Sadly missed the deal where they were on Play for something like £3.99 so got some off EBAY at £4 each delivered. They will do the same job as your cable.

Not sure if this is a dupe post as well see here

Hence my cold vote - sorry but they cant all be hot.

Voted hot by me on price for a very high quality Monster cable

Tis a bit garish being white, and short too at only 1 metre but the price is right e.g. http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/cables/Monster-200-HDMI-Cable

Overpriced cable is still overpriced, even in a sale :)

Over-priced. Over-rated. Monster as a company are bullies who hang around the periphery of trademark and patent law harassing and extorting other companies who have the temerity to (a) have Monster in their title, or (b) produce cables. Do a Google search on 'monster cables bully'.

Durable? I'm pretty sure even my cheap one is durable.

Anyway, I don't think a white cable does look better, especially not with all my black kit! Besides, I'm not fussed what the cable looks like, since it's tucked tidily away behind the tv, kit and tv stand - hardly on view at all.

Voted cold on this as I would never want to encourage people to fall for an out-and-out con

So the reviews from WHAT HIFI (see link) by people that are expeirenced in the industry and view images from plenty of different cables on some of the highest quality kit mean nothing???

I really would love to see for myself if there was a difference

When they are reviewing cables they are attaching to high end cinema kit.

Maybe if you're spending tens of thousand on a kit then a £100+ HDMI cable might be worthwhile (like you I have never seen this sort of thing side by side) so cant really judge.

Maybe the fact that Monster are one of Whathifi's biggest advertisers might explain their review
